Title: Tricep/Shoulder Injury

I pulled a muscle in my tricep, bowling a few weeks ago. It wasn't much of a problem until 2 weeks ago when I aggravated it rowing in the gym. Since then it's been a struggle to bowl. I have problems straightening my arm and particularly getting any speed into the delivery. I get a shooting pain and have been restricted to grenades! I have been to a physio and he done a bit of sports massage work in the general shoulder area but it hasn't helped yet. Putting ice on it and trying to stretch it out but playing/bowling isn't helping much either.

Any ideas for a quicker recovery?

Just a little update on this.

Had a session with the sports Physio at the gym and we did 4 things:-

1. Rest it for 2 weeks (my GP advised the same)
2. Sports massage on the area to loosen it up
3. Stretches
4. Some mild pain killers to act as anti inflammatory

In addition I have iced since bowling again to aid recovery. Its seems a combination of all four measures have done the trick, but the stretching seems to have helped the most to aid flexibility and recovery.

In a nutshell I was ok enough to bowl again after 2 weeks but it's still a long way from 100%, particularly post match. Small steps and I have just started to do some light weights this week, albeit missing out on lat pull downs for the time being.
