Title: Midsummer net in Hampshire
Post by: ppccopener on June 27, 2016, 08:57:47 PM
right  I'm throwing this out there, first up, I'm rubbish at organising anything, but it has become apparent some of our members are not hitting it exactly like Jos Butler at the moment, so maybe some practice? Batters and bowlers of course....it not all about the batters.

So just getting a feel if anyone would like to attend, last one at Eversley is a great surface, smack in the Hampshire Brexit  voting(just kidding) Hampshire Countryside and the is a pub down the road which serves the cold stuff and encourages chat about cricket.

Which day is the problem as a lot of you may have a Sunday game.Personally I can only really get a Sunday net by giving up one of my Sunday games(married) but if that proves a popular day maybe we can do it.

I'm thinking July....

Let's get some feedback and go from there?

Nothing's organised just throwing it out there, and if Simon,Pete, cam and the Cat turn up the bat collections will be off the scale..
 :)

@ppccopener depending on numbers, obviously, I thought that the two nets worked well so we could have a bowl in one lane and the machine in the other.

Let's throw some dates out there:
I have no Sunday games on the 10th of the 31st July, so those would be the most ideal

ok lads we are booked 10th July 2-5 pm, 2 lanes, 1 bowling machine

not sure exactly how many of us there will be, about 10 at the moment and it's £105.00 for the 3 hours. my paypal address is carlomarcangelo@aol.com

there will be room to accommodate others should you wish to come as well as the regulars.

the last few have been fun i'm sure this one will be too, everyone gets a decent bat and for those who have been short of time in the middle we can accommodate maybe a bit extra, there's enough of us who know which end to hold and share some tips..

the winter nets certainly helped me get a bit of form back

see ya there!

Just a bit of an advance warning
Last week when I was there the conditions inside I would describe as rainforest-esque
It was raining outside so that may have contributed to the humidity but even so it was rather hot!

So I will be there from 1pm until 6/7pm! Gutted but I did commit to it so too late now  :(

And you do have that bat still - could you please take that with you and hand it over to Brucie for me, as I need to get some video clips to Brucie so we will try to meet up and trade bits soon?

I'm just reviewing the video footage and my camera only takes 9 minutes and 17 seconds of footage so I lost most of what I actually recorded  :(

Which was nice.

sounds like you had a good Sunday evening.

All I did was connected myself to the garden hose for half an hour to replace 10 kilos of fluid.

@Batbuddy99 was not wrong, it was tropical.

I half expected David Attenborough to make an appearance with a gorilla

It was good to get bat on ball after a 3 week break in our league fixtures.
Apart from mr fattus cattus bowling, which I couldn't get near, due to the extreme swing/late dip/and turn!

Title: Re: Midsummer net in Hampshire
Post by: ppccopener on July 11, 2016, 04:24:56 PM
the nets always help I find, just to feel bat on ball hopefully helped a few , in your case, violently bat on ball.. never has the 'ball-feeder' felt  'if it's straight at me it's going thru the glass and taking me with it'  :)

and you can imagine @FattusCattus  and @Batbuddy99 's Dad teaming up on the same side on a difficult track?

I'd just hand the bat in and go off to the pub rather than play and miss for 20 overs

Ha ha
I could say loads about my inability to pick eithers bowling, but I blame the heat!
