Hi all, GM Purist in bit of a state to put it lightly, been sat in my mums loft for an age. and completley forgotten until now. lovely traditional profile. Seen as the middle still goes i'm considering a full on repair, bit beyond my skill level if it is repairable, would probs need dowelling and there's 2 nails embedded ! other possibility is getting a replica made up, or both ;) . Nails in bats obviously dont mix, but that's not what my team mate told me 15 years ago. Gunna give it a sand to see what these grains look like first, might just buff her up and retire her to the cupboard. :D

Get the nails out of it, glue and clamp the toe and any other cracks rather with a couple of clamps or some parcel tape, and leave overnight, sand clean and wrap tightly with either binding or bat tape as well as a scuff sheet for the face

Yeah that's an easy fix. Remove the nails, glue the pieces and clamp. The I would dowel the sides and add a lamitoe to give added strength. Then lastly a full clean up.
