Hello chaps,
We have for sale three of Shan Masood's bats - these were made for him and he used them in the nets but he changed his specs slightly, he wanted square edges and a square toe.
Therefore we remade him his bats and he kindly returned these.

Wow 400 for a used bat! Or is that for all 3....
-
Thats.....steeeeeeeeeeeep!
-
Compared to, say, £530 for a GN Legend? For a Test player's bat, I don't think that's ridiculous...
-
Please may I have one !!!!

Isn't Crown willow 500 new?
The could make it look new and you'd never know, then charge the extra 100 and still sell them as Shan's bats.
Think it's a fair price, doubt they've been used that much, especially the middle one.
-
They're bound to be outrageously good sticks, would need a biro written name on the toe though with the refurb!0

I do believe this is his new one as that bat had a square toe and left square edged as my spec too
His old one ie these bats are his first version I do believe
-
Surely they'll move out but 400 pounds for used bats for some reason sounds more ludicrous than 500 pounds for a new one. But Ofcourse, each to their own & that's why maybe they won't stick around. Good luck with the sale
-
Lovely bats and definitely would have bought one but £400 is well too expensive and that for used bat.
-
Too expensive and no bow.

Yawn.

Don't buy it then. Just move on?

£400 for all 3?
That's what I first thought. Then realised I was being daft. Look nice sticks, would certainly have them refurbished and new stickers
-
IMO the price is not that bad considering it is an actual Pro Player's bat, crown willow, knocked-in and will be a new bat after a B3 refurbish.

Really. Seen people on here buy pro players cheaper then that and get slated for paying too much.
I would have personally bought this bat if price was reasonable. £400 for a used bat even if it's pro players it's really not worth it.

I agree- its too much money for used bats. Consider the same for players SS bats or SG bats. Right now B3 and H4L can do no wrong for the forumites! :D
-
Shan Masood is no David warner either! not enough marketing oomph in him to warrant even half of that! :D :D

They are his rejects as well.
-
That's a bit steep for a rejected used bat
-
I wonder if any sort of warranty would be on the bat as well. Especially at 400 pounds
-
Theoretical question. What if it were one of Warner's? Or, given the seller, Root's?
-
It's a players bat. I'm guessing there are his new B3 bats plus these in existence. If you like the player and want one of his actual bats here is your chance. I'm sure a Pakistan supporter, Shah Masood fan or someone who really wants a player grade bat from B3. I'm guessing these will all be guns. There is a market for these bats. Good on B3 for asking.
If you want his profile, brand new, order it separately in the weight and grade you can use and afford.
-
I'd love to get my hands on one of these. I'm just not that good a batter to need one. I really want one though. I don't know why so many people on here are complaining. We all know B3's quality. This are the top of the line bats which a professional has used and made slight tweaks to the profile. If you are in the market for Crown willow then why not take a chance on one of these for 100 pounds less. Most people are never going to get there hands on Crown Willow, but I'd take one of these instead of a new top of line off the shelf GN or Kook any day of the week. If the Aussie dollar was equal to the pound I'd have already pulled the trigger. Sarg how are we doing against the pound? Could you justify one of these to add to your collection? Combined postage....
-
my view is For 400 you can get a new low density cleft made to your own spec
-
I'm sure that there will be the normal B3 warranty guys.
This is a for sale offer - we are actually very lucky to have some very good batmakers and some very good retailers on this forum.
They often offer some fantastic bats, equipment and service! Where else can you arrange to visit a retailer and try hundreds of bats with a cuppa thrown in? Or get the kind of service and advice from batmakers themselves? Or indeed be offered bats used by true County or International players? Evidently ebay offers a number of bats used by International players but I think we'll take that one with a pinch of salt! ;)
But we are pretty spoilt on here with what is on offer so please appreciate that.
Also when it comes to bat prices, they are only worth what people are willing to pay!!!
B3 are offering these bats for £400 which have only been used for a net session or two - but as they were made for Masood, I'm sure there is little doubt about the quality. And I'm pretty sure that B3 will offer the same warranty as they do with all their bats?
Some obviously think that £400 is high price! But then again, when I think about a company like M&H charging a lot more than that for SSome of their bats, then these start to look like a bargain!
Therefore if you are not interested in buying, please do not post negative comments in the topic! So to sum up...
- If you are not interested in the kit and think the price is too high then check out the other forum topics!
- If you are interested in the kit but think the price is high, feel free to make an offer...the worst they can say is no!
- If you are interested in the kit and think the price is perfect, then feel free to buy!
-
Well said @petehosk :)
-
Thought I would share my view on the Forum, from a company point of view.
Benefits to B3 -
1. get a view from the customer about the cricket market and products.
2. We (I) hopefully get some inspiration for new products / ideas
3. Use you guys as a soundboard for new ideas/ problems etc etc
4. Sell a few bats
Benefits to the forum
1. Get access to special offers not available elsewhere, similar to the these bats offered in this thread. I thought you guys would like the opportunity to buy these bats, hence why I put them on. Apologies if the price has offended some people, but I thought and still think that it is a fair price for what they are.
Hopefully it is a mutually beneficial relationship, I certainly enjoy reading and posting occasionally and being part of the Forum community.

Although the bats are being offered at a premium price I think B3 are being entirely reasonable. They have been very transparent in what they are doing. They could have just refurbished the bats put new stickers on them and sold them for £500.
Thank you for offering the bats up to forum members. Whether people purchase the bats or not is the choice of the individual.
-
And I love seeing the different shapes you guys keep coming up with, thank you. I would be the proud owner of one had there not been alittle communication mishap on the last day of your 50% offer but not to worry. On the pricing of these I am sure they are great bats and somebody that can afford them will get a pingalicious bit of willow, but alas it is out of my price range unfortunately..and I don't warrant anything so good, this year especially.
Hope you sell them quickly, keep the info coming it's nice to read.

@Chad, is Scotland counted as overseas? ;)

It will be very interesting off the buyers what the edge and spine heights of the bats were.....

Nice bats. I like the profile. Good to see them on the TV. Your sponsorship worked!

A bit out of my price range for an off the shelf bat personally even if they are tempting! Will we ever see a return of the butterfly deal @The Doctor ?

Last bat now sold - just awaiting payment.
Hopefully all three will be enjoyed and help score a few runs!
Glad these bats got received well(ish), would you chaps like to see more of these on here if we get any come up?

Always nice to see good quality bats with a story.

yes, definitely Doc. Buy or no buy, it is always a pleasure to see the quality products that you keep on churning day in day out. Maybe have a online sale for bats like you had some time back?

Absolutely. Having been the beneficiary of a pro cast off bat in the past from B3, I'm all for having the opportunity to get hold of these type of bats in the future. People will always find something to gripe about, this the way of the world. Keep them coming, better to have the choice!
