Post by: ursmasti on July 07, 2016, 04:11:09 PM
Purchased my first Butterfly willow bat from Laver and wood last week . It has arrived earlier this week, feels really nice in hands and ping very well.

Weight - 2.9 ( feels lighter than its weight)
Grains - 15
Handle - Oval (SSH)
Edge -42mm

42mm edges and no concaving at 2lb9, hefty bit of wood for that weight!

That is absolutely stunning
I love lavers anyway, but would you look at that!
The grains look amazing, and the butterfly just adds character

Best of all, it's guaranteed to ping like a good un

And 2.9 with a lovely profile!
Don't sell that without letting me have first shout

Looks awesome mate...for the wood it packs at 2.9 and the straight grains.
How much you had to pay for it...I am after one.
What is the name of the profile.

That is an absolutely stunning stick, lovely grainage and that knot is a top bit of character. How much did it set you back if you don't mind me asking?

@ursmasti  Do you mind sharing how much this set you back by please.
how do you compare the ping of laver butterfly with his special reserve or reserve bats.
I my self have a reserve and the ping in the middle is something else and I want to preserve it for game days.

@hkvuppala @Sivlar13   almost same price as Reserve may be slightly less .
@hkvuppala its definitely better than special reserve and compared with reserve i have some excellent reserves and some OK ...so i would say this is def up there with reserve or i can say much better than reserve.

When I enquired with Laver and Wood they mentioned these at the same price as Special Reserve.
How is the experience for others with the butterfly...if performance is the only criteria...is butterfly the way to go?

@hkvuppala after using a range of butterflies from different brands I tend to find that the stain was harder so the sound was a little different that's all, if anything the ball pings better off the stain with it being harder so they are a really good bat especially for the price and Paul aldred said he use to use them when he was a pro so if that's anything to go by the why not give it a try
