Title: Sponsorship
Post by: JSeabridge on July 08, 2016, 09:08:21 AM
Hi,

I am currently on the fringes of the England Disability team and could be going on tour to Bangladesh in mid September. I've emailed about asking a few companies if they'd sponsor me but not heard much back. Can anyone help, recommend or point me in the right direction?

Thank You

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.  I'm afraid I don't really have any direct help I can offer - hopefully other members/forum sponsors will.

Just wanted to say good luck!

You may not have heard anything back as most bat makers get loads of requests for sponsorship so don't really tend to read them.

I know first hand as I am constantly messaged by kids playing really low standard of cricket asking for free kit (I know if you don't ask, you don't get).

One of the young lads who plays for my club and Yorkshire Terriers had a little bit of joy with Woodstock I believe but again it all depends on what level of sponsorship you want?

Most if not all the other lads have sponsorships deals, I've had a few offers from TON, Gunn & Moore and a few others but really want H4L. Think they're extremely busy at the minute though, will give Woodstock a look though.

Thank You

Not a problem.

Yep, I think H4L appear to be very busy ATM, may be worth holding off until the end of the season and ready for next year when companies set their quota of sponsorship deals etc.

Im sure beginning of Sept would be a good time for them as its a quieter time of the year.

Woodstock hand out "sponsorship" like Christmas cards! (read at least a 20% of RRP to anyone who asks)

Welcome to the forum and hope you get some joy!
You obviously know your batmakers if you are looking at H4L!!
Matt is a very busy man at the moment and can often take a while to reply due to the amount of interest he gets - catch 22 that the better the bats, then busier you get, and the less time you have to do admin bits!  :(
But email H4L again and try two or three others - see what they can offer you.
And best of luck if you do go on tour  :D

Picked up a Platinum Woodstock stick for £130 before, John loves giving a deal. To be fair the bats are also fantastic!

@JSeabridge a lad at our club apparently plays for England disability and he claims to get sponsorship off Kookaburra... he says he gets the gear for free, but whether he does is another matter. I think he's away with them this weekend.

Emailed them and had nothing back! Nobody in the team has Kookaburra I don't think...

Yeah, he'd be on the Learning Disability team.
