Title: Nick Compton
Post by: runeshrenik on August 06, 2016, 07:59:53 PM
Being a huge fan of middlesex ccc, I am very happy to see Nick Compton back from his break from the game!

Being a member of this forum though, meant the first thing I noticed was his lack of a GN bat when he went out to bat yesterday. He was sporting a Millichamp & Hall bat. I wonder if he has lost his GN sponsorship deal?

Thought this might be an interesting debate or something someone could answer.

He was sponsored by millichamp and hall, vs South Africa in the winter and vs Sri Lanka begining of this summer.

That is very interesting. I could swear I had seen him earlier this season with a GN!

Also, he smiled for the first time since he's been back! Still looks very nervous though.

One of the guys I played with at the weekend has one of the NC "W" bats. Compared to his older Distinction, it's a shocking lump of wood.

In what way Tim? Looks, performance, finish or a bit of everything?

Bringing an old thread back, but is seems Compton has been allowed to keep his testimonial but been ditched by Middlesex at the same time.

My favourite rumour is that this is because he slagged off the selectors for the ashes!

Despite Fraser saying this isn't the first time and they are looking to to rebuild a younger side... it does seem a bit bizarre.

He didn't have a very good season last year particularly but does, or did if correct, have one upto the end of the  2018 season

Nearly made a decent test  player....but not quite
