Title: Swann drafted in by ECB

About time too if you ask me. Best spinner this country has produced for a long time, wish it had happened sooner.

Good decision, however id have him working with the guys in and around the lions already and pushing for a test place, also some work with moeen might be as beneficial!

Hope this pays off and england get a spinner we can rely on especially with these winter tours coming if its not too late

Swann still thinks Mo is the best spinner we have, just needs the confidence.

Whatever happened to that Poydsen chap. He was making noises last year if I remember correctly?

Part of me still doesn't forgive him for cowarding his way out, at least Pietersen saw it through

The banter is going to be astronomical.

yeah didn't like the way he retired, although whether Flower pushed him out(Swann says he offered to stay with the team) or not we don't really know...

But he was the best spinner ive seen for us.

With a bit of luck he will be too busy for tms. Good spinner but not fond of his commentary.

TBH he needs to be helping the like of Ali and Root rather than the u19s

The problem with Swanny on TMS is that he'd be better suited to Sky Sports in my opinion.
Can we swap him for Charles Colville & Nick Knight?

It is interesting News, did he not state he quit because he couldn't turn the ball....cant be a good sign to be a coach.

'Today lads were learning the off break that doesn't turn'

Because of an injury to his elbow, yes.

He had the ability to get amazing revs on the ball.

I think swann will make a great spin coach. He can create confidence in people too .
I reckon if Derek Underwood could coach some of your spinners that would be good too , seeing as he could  be much like his nickname on seaming tracks (....and England don't produce too many home spin friendly tracks , but still produce the odd green top ).

he couldnt bowl properly at the end because of an injury, i'm sure if you watched any of his tests you'd have seen that he got a quite a bit of movement from the ball in the air and on the pitch

Your wit is obviously too subtle for some.
