There are 52 weeks of the year, of which the cricket season (going on just league cricket here) takes up about 17 of those. It's a long old winter!

Yes gone are the days when I started plYing the 2nd Sat in April then matches every Sat and Sun with the  last match  1st Sun in Oct.

I think the longest season I can recall playing, including friendlies, was mid April to mid September. That was still "only" 5 months.
Sadly, friendly cricket (especially on Sundays) seems to have died out recently, those long seasons are now just a distant memory.  :(

I'm honestly a bit surprised that Newbery are still selling their remaining stickers, given the number of 'restickering merchants' on eBay at the moment. Thought they would be more wary about maintaining their reputation/ quality control

Now theres no regional divide There's less Sunday cricket in Worcestershire than previously Clubs are travelling distances on a Saturday long days killed off  playing Sundays
