Title: CP Cricket
Post by: Danny90 on August 15, 2016, 11:14:45 PM
Was just wondering if anyone has any experience with CP bats.

I have been using one this year and haven't really come to any conclusions about it's performance. It taps up poorly compared to my Newbury Tour and sometimes feels pretty dead when i use it. However when I am batting well and hitting the ball cleanly against good balls and good bowling it pings better than any bat I have ever used.

I'm struggling to work out why its so inconsistent. Could it possibly be due to a hard press? Which CP are known to use.

Also does anyone know where they are made, the owner of the brand claims they are handmade in the UK by a known brand/batmaker. But is unable to provide details.

I'll post pics when my phone is fixed

I know the lower grade ones are- and I originally was skeptical about their made in the uk claim. However now ItsJustCricket are stocking them and claiming they are made in the UK, which I doubt they would do without proof?

Didn't IJC stock them, stop stocking them and change their minds again?
I can't keep up with what brands do and don't fall under their morals any more, it seems to change weekly :-[

I know they weren't stocking them until a few weeks ago, but now it seems like they are stocking and promoting the full range.

Any idea who makes them though, because I know for a fact they don't have their own batmaker.

No white label brand will openly disclose this type of information. Maybe head over to IJC, and get some hints in person (don't think you're going to get it in writing)...they do look like amazing sticks in the pics / videos, and so I'm sure its one of the top guys around.

Some pictures of the bat, particularly the shoulder, binding under the grip and possibly the toe/toe guard would clear up where it's made in a jiffy

I wouldn't be surprised if the bats are made overseas across the whole range - from their Facebook page the bats look different lengths, have very flat faces and the dodgy side branding is usually a giveaway

Saying that the softs are certainly RS, and the bats don't look like they've come from RS comparing it to the one I have...

They must be made in the UK, otherwise IJC would have to fork out for the cost of flights and shipping to handpick them...

They might have a UK distributor to hand pick from.

Or someone could have a well stocked car boot...

Some of our players are fully sponsored by them . All happy but thin round handle , a lot of con caving and big for weight makes me think over dried Asian bats. Pick up on all is awful

According to the facebook page his showroom is a self storage unit somewhere!!! As for some being made here and some in Pakistan, I'm calling shenanigans on that!! Look a bit like CA bats to me in shape!
