With the GN kit soon to be launched and the trade show launches not far away what do members hope to see from the new seasons kit?
(Please keep them realistic - massive price cuts are not going to be happening!)
Personally I am looking forward to the Newbery kit, not 100% sure why. Ok that is garbage, I know exactly why!
I expect the GM kit to be an extension of their electrifying range from 2016, but note that it wasn't as successful as previous ranges I understand - I would really like gm to take some weight out of their softs.
GN we have seen some of, and I have high hopes for their traditional range.
Who will spring the biggest surprises?
-
Chase to come back into vogue
Mongoose to re-invent itself pitched squarely at the youth market
Puma to come up with an outstanding minimalist range
Hunts to re-introduce retro branding
Hell4Leather to go back to the MK1 Tempo in a slightly toned down spine height so they can produce them in 2.10
-
Some decent sausage gloves which are plain and have pittards
-
GM to make there duffle exactly the same but better quality. As mine shat itself within two uses
-
Less is more...
Enough with the garish stickers that take up almost all of the willow on bats, and the more white on the softs the better as well!

Definitely agree with these Fattus, particularly some new Puma softs.
Hoping to see a properly compartmented duffle rather than just the recent race for size with one massive section.
Hunts taking themselves a bit more seriously and having a crack at an interesting new range would be good, rather than sticking with what they've done for the last few years.
-
Less grade 3 bats and club grade softs labelled as "pro" or "players" kit and being priced as such.
-
Bats that comply with the new bat size recommendations to show thinner edges and spine might not necessarily mean less power.
-
BIG BATS
And for NB to finally get their whites over here
-
Does Hunts count as a big brand?
I'd like a Slazenger style wheelie duffle from them :)
-
Sensible prices
Wouldn't mind NB whites as adidas are clearly the best but the length of their trousers are ridiculous
-
New Balance trousers.
-
Would like someone to start making whites with padding in the elbows and knees like they do on the England kit. I'd pay a premium for that.
-
More and more 'whiteout' softs to choose from

Why do you need more to choose from, they're all white? ;) Classic all white gear should be left to classic brands like GN, everyone else I'd rather see something different from.
-
Newbery Cadbury bat and softs
I'm looking at my gear and can't find anything that needs replacing....
-
More of the big brands, and any brand for that matter, utilising the skills in the uk rather than abroad-ok thats a WISH rather than expectation.
The market grow for grade 2 and grade 3 uk produced bats at more affordable prices
And hunts county redesign their stickers.

They're Poocakes Cam!!
They need to major on the Caerulax(sic) / Insignia stickers.

I think that's why I love them to be honest with you.
They're not a fashionable brand and they aren't the bestest stickers on the market, but they're good honest bats for a fair price.
-
They look like swizzle sticks we had as kids!!
Behind these stickers are some very very well made bats
Cant help thinking totally minimalist would suit hunts...
Or just the stag with one colour background maybe
-
Other things I'd like to see:
A lighter, more traditional looking Masuri helmet.
Return of the GM Icon (still one of my favourite bat shapes).
Newbery to sort their act out!
Kookaburra to make more of their full profiled bats (this year's were dreamy).

Now those colours work!!
What a great bag thats on the list of stuff to buy
-
Some sausage gloves with decent protection as don't care about looks so any brand but down to my last pair of Vulcans and loosing hope of anyone else producing a decent pair
-
Some 20plus grainers from hell for leathers latest batch of willow
Yes I have become a grain tart
-
Minimal stickers on Bats reduced bulk on batting gloves they keep getting bigger.

Spot the Surrey fan...

I am hoping to see colored pads in the top ranges. Like GN le etc. Hate having to settle on either clads or t20 pads..

There simply isn't enough demand for it to be worthwhile for the larger brands I'm afraid.
Coloured GN pads can be done, but the minimum order is 15.
You are best speaking to boutique brands who are more willing/able to handle a small order. We did individual pairs of coloured pads for customers from Focus, H4L and B&S in the past year or so

A different perspective.... aussie 16/17 gear /catalogues recently released. G.m icon and maestro are back which was pleasing (so if in the u.k I'd be hoping for those), although some of the colourways /stickers seem very un-g.m.....like a dad trying to be a cool kid . . G.n stuff all looks good . Smaller brands like Bradbury , Grove and Impala have some really impressive kit . Puma was predictible , same bat shapes with lairy colours....like to see them offer something different. Kookaburra has been a pleasant surprise. ...if they release similar in the u.k they should have a good 2017( if u.k gets a top of the line Ghost it will sell like hotcakes ). If i were in the u.k I'd really be looking forward to the adidas sl22 boosts in new colours . I also wish someone else would put out compliant super light helmets ...shrey at 750gms is a bit disappointing. Oh , and more standup wheelie bags next year would be a treat .

Aussie GM range is very good.
I thought the UK Kooka range was much better though. All Aussie Kooka bats are the same shape again this year. At least there was some exciting variety across the range in shape for the UK.

I might just have to do that. Maybe Newberry matching up with stretton to give us well designed light pads.

Last seasons UK Kooka range mate. Our range is ordinary.

I just want to see the newbery kit. just the newbery kit. all of it, now!

I'm hoping someone can be a sly Fox and sneak some pictures of the Newbery range soon
-
That would put the fox among the chickens, frankly I'm ok with that. In a few weeks it will be in kit season again. I don't know if they have even released a catalogue yet?!
-
I'd presume you'll see the Newbery gears around the time of the Lords trade show as with most others - only a few weeks out now
-

Yeah ! .......a real Foxy Newbery toe guard .....please !
-
Sausage. Fingered. Gloves. That is all. Rapidly becoming hen's teeth...
-
Some retro styled kit in modern day materials, such as the SP gloves worn by Tony Greig amongst others.

Kookaburra sort of gave it a go with the Menace range a few seasons back - total flop from what I could tell, ended up in every sale possible!
-
A guy at our club has the full menace range. The gloves are surprisingly comfortable, but frankly I'd rather bat glove less!

I had a pair of menace 700 mittens, they were comfortable enough but i didn't feel the protection was any better than "normal gloves". They also made asking the umpire for 2 more of a challenge...

What would I know, Surrey now with Adidas for 2017, I guess the Curran link will be a good combination.
