With this season drawing to a close and thinking of 2017 I decided to take a drive in the sunshine this morning to see my local Batmaker re getting a bat made to my specs from a low density cleft that they use to make there Pro and Players bats.
Didnt manage to place an order though as only LE and below clefts currently available.
Did pick up a low density players bat that was in for repair and picked up a couple of LEs in the same weight but you could feel the difference in the hands.

low density is the way to go and we need to do it now whilst we still can :-(

Yes
But the clefts seem to be in short supply which will probably mean they will be retained for the pros.

^ This has been the case for over a month (and a half?) now. I have been trying to get one made but to no avail. Pros...pros...pros!!! So effing sick of them hogging all the good clefts.

And us paying for lesser clefts

It's not exactly surprising is it, of course the pros get the lowest density willow (that won't be some new occurrence!)

Can you imagine, Joe Root walks into the workshop and eyes a super light cleft. "That one please" he says. "Sorry, Dave the Plumber from Wigan has reserved that one" is the reply :D

So if Dave was to walk in with his £500 for that cleft they would say no its for Joe?
If thats the case then Id be taking my £500 to another bat maker.

Good point.

It is time to look for a another type of wood or willow or another supplier. JS Wright has monopolized the market long enough.
