Title: New bat
Post by: Caughtatslip on August 28, 2016, 05:43:37 PM
I'm getting a new bat, but would like your advice, I'm looking at about £250 for a good lasting bat.  I'm only 16 and tall and thin and still growing so a light short handle would be good.  I play on non bouncing wickets that are fairly slow.  I don't particularly have a favourite shot, so and all round bat would be nice.  I've been looking at some bats on pro direct cricket and the two that suck out were the NB TC 1260 and DC 1080.

Thanks for the advice,
Caughtatslip

Drop the forum sponsors (retailers) a pm for some advice mate - if you can visit and swing some bats around

I would recommend Hell for fire !!! their bats are much beer than the big brands.

Call Matt and have a word!!

Cheers

Thanks, I have very few major retailers nearby so that's not really an option.  And Raj, do you mean hell for leather?

A lightshort handle you say, @Vitas Cricket has plenty of those at end of season sale prices!

B&S have an excellent Surpreme that's 2.10 and nice and light. It's the Tendulkar profile so the middle is nice and low in order for you to get on that front dog when it doesn't bounce. Drop Bellingham & Smith a PM and he'll sort you out.

If it's these two you want to with the DC model as it has a mid/low profile whilst the TC is mid/high profile

From recommended use I would speak to B&S or H4L if spending that money and Jake at Vitas as a couple of lighter B&S in his sale section and can also get you anything from Matt at H4L or deal with them direct
