Title: Kane Williamson's actual bat.
Post by: potzy248 on September 06, 2016, 08:31:25 AM
I was coaching with a guy tonight who has had a bit to do with Kane over the years and he was helping him move today. Apparently he had a stack of these at his new home. beautiful looking bat and amazing pick up. Not the biggest bat in the world but just right. Sorry about the grip at the bottom I don't usually stand for that...

Only used on a bowling machine by the looks.

Forgot to say that it isn't mine, I wish. Not sure if the coach has to give it back or not because its almost brand new.

Weight is 2.7lb.

Heard he's off to Asics today to sign a deal for new shoes. Ah the life of a Pro.

I think if it was advertised as an "end of season sale", it would hardly fetch £80.

But look at all those "lovely bat, looks like a cralcker, beauty" type comments, after we know that it actually belongs to KW.

That's because the forum is full of stingy gits and northerners😂😂😂

I forgot to add yesterday that the bat had what looked like a stamp on the back. It was either a stamp or Kane had hit it against something to put the mark on but I'm sure one of you guys can clear it up.

It was a round stamp on the back and said...I think "Ashram Bros" on the top and "Mumbai" on the bottom.

All GN bats being made out of India maybe???

Any ideas?

Gray nics have there own factory in India, which makes majority of there bats.
Specials, prototypes, legends and some pro bats are then made at robertsbridge.

They do not have the staff or facilities to make everything down there any more.
There quite open about this and I believed it was common knowledge on here, it's certainly mentioned a few times.

I'll add to that Grays don't seem fussed of there players want to use bats made elsewhere, plenty of pics on the net of comptons non Grays being stickered up before he left.

I knew that Grays outsourced but I would've thought that the top Pros would all be made out of Melbourne (Southern Hemisphere).

Not outsourced. Grays own the factory and only gray nicolls are made there.

As for the pros bats in your neck of the woods? All depends on the pros preference, of for whatever reason the don't like the Melbourne made bats, there not gonna stop them getting there's made elsewhere.
