Post by: Tom on September 07, 2016, 08:14:47 PM
Bit slow on this. Bats are Kookaburra Kahuna, Blaze, Surge, Ghost, Fuse and Zinc.

Released tomorrow, keep an eye on their Twitter. They posted this today -  stickers are awesome

Kook signs up Usman and there is no Kahuna series anymore ??? Didn't their twitter account feature teasers for new Kahuna ?

Fiery red color scheme will look good on Butler. The way he goes about his job must have inspired Kook to go for blazing red !

No need to be sorry mate. I was just wondering what the heck did Kook do  :D !

Reminds me of the Vitas Focus Mugshot Competiton  :D

This is ridiculous. We just get the new stickers etc down here and then the new ones come out. Before we can actually buy them they are out of date. Bloody NZ being miles away.

Saw Kookaburra 2017 the other day, will see it again at Lords

The dark blue and light blue Surge range is my favourite. Ghost pads and gloves as well as Ghost bats in many grades should please plenty of customers. Specifically looking at the wants of many on the forum, the Ghost Pro glove is a sausage finger pittard palm!

Liking this orange/red colour scheme. For all you old timers out there, reminiscent of the kookaburra Diablo range from many moons ago. IIRC Damien Martyn used that range

Agree one of my favourite ranges, had the colour fading in that range as well in the mid 2000s. Colours not unlike the genesis range as well...

yeah gloves are very smart.

Like the colour scheme on the Ghost too. The large silver/grey sticker on the back would also look good(on the front)

No idea if these bats are any good or not but the graphics are excellent

SG T45 LE and Kook Ghost 500 had the exact same profile in my observation. Sharing profiles or copying ? I am guessing latter is true ...

Quite curious to know who actually comes up with the profile. Does Kook give profiles for SG to make or does SG propose and Kook selects ?

I reckon the Kooka UK range outdoes the Aussie range again. We have an awesome Ghost range down here but the rest of the U.K. gear looks so much more impressive.

Have a Ghost players bat and Storm gloves on the way. Also decided to order a bag. Ghost range looks really impressive this year, Kookaburra outdoing most off the shelf companies once again this year. Let's hope it's a good investment!

Quite interesting how the English range of kookaburra is better than the Aussie one, when kookaburra are originally an Aussie company, and the opposite is true for GN!

Some seriously good looking softs/stickers there. The only one I don't like particularly is the Fuse, but I can see why it would be popular. Love the whole Ghost range, the Surge and Blaze look great as well. If only I'd remained loyal as a Kooka user for another season or two.

Just picked up a 2016 Kahuna 900 at half-price - now I know why.  Assuming it's just a sticker change, I can live with that for a season.  I very rarely look at Grade 1 or 2 willow so was happy enough.

Sorry I didn't go custom by the way, but playing cricket in 3rd or 4th XI I can't justify the expense...

I've had a few quality Kahunas off Vitas over the last few years, some others I've seen can be a lot more concaved for similar weights, so performance can vary, but the ones I've had have been guns. Hope yours goes well.
Custom doesn't have to be expensive I had a quality custom X3 off Redink a year or 2 back, and just put another order in.

I'm sure @smilley792 will enlighten you :)

Its basically a relaunch of the Big Kahuna and Biggest Kahuna range, which were always very big, heavy bats.

I decided, you'll be pleased to hear, that I wasn't 100% happy with the Kook - 'Twas a nice bat but the pick up wasn't perfect and I just decided I NEED to go custom for my next bat and to support the vendors on here.

To that end, I have just purchased some B&S softs and I'll be sorting my bat choice out soon enough. I need to get over my "all matching gear" OCD and this is the season...

Yes. It's an initial entry into the market to see how it goes, blue being the most popular colour that's the starting point for them. If it goes well expect more colours for 2018
