Title: Nets quick question
Post by: Woodyspin on September 16, 2016, 04:01:44 PM
How many sessions do you have before season starts? How much do you pay, for how long?

Club does about 12 hour long sessions for about £500 quid I think (5 lanes)

We normally start the first Saturday back in January, roughly 12-14 sessions? Two hours long. £40 for two lanes though, as we have to take up half of the indoor leisure centre hall. What this does mean though is we can do extra bits in that space as we do some catching, fielding etc to get rid of those soft hands. Oh and a little bit of fitness work to get rid of the extra Christmas weight  :D

A 12 hour long net session, I'd be knackered after that!

Jeeeez. Anyone got a good contact at an energy drinks company? Clearly unfair to have one person hog the batting too, wonder if there's a group version.

What if we operated an "Out is Out" rule?

It'd be a long 11 hours and 59 minutes for me, not being a bowler. Even with all the willow on show!

If that was the case, I'd expect procricket1982 to only bat for ten hours, and then retire being sporting as its a friendly net.......

10 hours of forward defensives and leaves, how thrilling!

£40 per person for 12-14 sessions? How many people do you get turn up? And would you know how much they charge you for the hall fpr the 2 hours?

We have 14 x 1hour sessions , we charge £3 per person per session, hire cost varies on the venue but between £35 -40  per hour depending whether 3 or 4 lanes.

I'd presume he means £40 per week for the lane hire - bargain if so!

For a hall with 4 nets we have the choice of either £30 and hour (not great for cricket though) or £40 (better for cricket but bouncy)

Suppose someone with your level of skill doesn't need pre-season nets...
