Title: Lovely Little Net Today
Post by: FattusCattus on September 18, 2016, 05:59:37 PM
Had a very nice net today with a few 'members' (and I use that word advisedly) - hopefully someone will pop a few pics up later.

This lovely little nerdy fruitbowl was garnished by the attendance of Jake from Vitas, of whom it was a pleasure to see. He was clearly happy to be there, as his smile lit up the room when he arrived, however, he has the smelliest athletic support I have ever encountered.

4 hours of wobbly slow bowling and batting against the machine sorted most members out, and chief amongst the perspirers were Mt P Hosk and Mr T Line, both of whom moistened up lovely after a vigorous bat. Curiosly, one had wet legs, the other a wet top half!!

Mr Matt MPT7 protested vociferously that his shoulder meant he couldn't do much, but he spent most of his time with a bat in his hand, or sending down a variety of the filthiest legspin I have ever seen.

Mr R da Pixie marched around saying loudly "I don't know why everyone has so many bats - I've only got 1!" - so we locked him in the toilet.

Mr N Monkey moaned constantly about his joints and his age, whilst smoking the ball absolutelely everywhere - he seemed very enamoured with Petes Newbery long blade and peppered the rear netting.

Mr S May only brought 25 bats with him, and had a nasty habit of sneaking up behind you, thrusting his wood into your hands and saying "have a feel of this one then!"

Mr W Wickets continued has charity work towards all bowlers by donating them his wicket with alarming frequency.

Things learnt from this net: -

I need to get fitter faster to allow me to thrust my benders at people for 3 hours

3 bananas is 2 too many in the bowels department

Waiting for the ball to get to you when batting is a revelation - who knew?  :)

Pete was too busy trying to take Tom's head off today!
What does he have against people from your neck of the woods....

Just purely coincidence! I must admit that I did nail Si in the ribs last time but it was only because he jumped out in front of the ball! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
And to be fair Tom was protected by the perspex screen (thanks goodness) as it was right out of the screws and it was travelling! It did make one hell of a noise and I was fearful that Tom may have needed a change of underwear after that!

Bruce, it's the force in which you get the ball down there. It's no surprise you're a tad stiff.

It's nothing to do with the force! You're getting confused!! The force is strong with Luke Skywalker...not C3PO!

Whilst on the subject, I have a few photos to post but only took a few before my phone got low on battery. Will follow soon.

"Oh Sod it. I'll spank this one across the line! They're too busy with their bats anyway!"
