Hi guys,
Every season our GN rep reaches a point where he has no-one left to show his samples to. At this point often we are able to buy some of these samples.
Usually we receive a small discount on these bats, we tend not to pass it on as the bats themselves are fantastic (intended to impress retailers) and are often sold before we actually physically receive them.
In the case of this Legend we received a larger discount than normal owing to the superficial marks/minor dents on the back of the bat which i have shown in one of the photos. We are happy to pass this on, making the bat now £450 which is a price reduction of over £100. This is not the best looking Legend i've seen, nor is it the worst, but boy is it well balanced (weight is 2'9 exactly) and goes like a train when tapping a ball on it! It's a big bat (39mm edges and 60+ mm spine approx) with a full profile. I'm sure you are all aware of the classy features like lazer engraving, the leather handle cap and red/white alternating binding.

We offer free UK delivery, i'm happy to knock the bat in for free, with your choice of extras if needed (anti scuff, edge tape, extra grip etc) and it comes with a free padded bat cover as pictured.
I'm sure there will be some people out there who will feel £450 is too much, despite it being over £100 off the normal price. Please remember the pricing is mostly beyond our control and down to the manufacturer. We have sold 3 or 4 Legends this year at full price so there is demand for them, if you have always had an interest but the price was a little too much, this might be the one for you. PM me or send an email to jake@vitascricket.co.uk to discuss :)

I really admire the binding on that. Classy bat.
-
Very nice bat!
-
Yes a lovely blade indeed, now on its way to a new home :)
-
I am not surprised it was scooped up quickly.
I wish there was a way to measure/gauge and exerience the ping of these bats from a distance... Pictures don't communicate that detail.

Every bat that has ever sold on here "pings like a trampoline".
I suppose saying "I'm selling it because it's a total plank" probably wouldn't attract any buyers though... ;)
-
You'll have to go to other retailers to find the planks ;)
-
Some retailers hand pick all their planks! :D

That's just not cricket! :D
For the record the boys at Vitas always send me pingers and the customer service is spot on (hence why I keep going back!) Not a plank in sight :)

I wish atleast on this forum we could trust the sellers.. I still tend to do that but as there is no way to measure the bounce from trampoline, i all depends upon one's experience.

That was a quick sale!!

Gutted to miss this :(

I am talking about something like a GM's pickup index for bat ping that standardizes the response. I find it surprising that in this day-and-age there is no gadget or gizmo that measure a ping/bounce from a bat's surface.
PS: The latest measure (marketing ploy?) "low density" is pretty meaningless when it comes to performance.

I know £450 is a fair chunk of money, but for something that special at 2.9, with the leather cap handle and laser engraving, I'm not surprised it went so quickly, especially since it's £100 less than usual. Thank goodness someone in America snapped it up, may very well have been heading to a tool in Scotland otherwise. :D

measuring ping....surely something like the stimpmeter in golf would work - propel a ball onto the middle down a chute and see how far it rebounds?

I think £450.00 for that bat was a bargain

I'm pretty sure in the grand scheme of things that bat could turn out to be just as much of a bargain as any other bat sold on here... but then again if you haven't got 450 to spend on a bat it will always be expensive.
I wish i had the skill to warrant this bat... would have loved to get it.

I picked up a second hand bat the other days and it had a Vitas sticker on the back.
a sense of reassurance came over me ! :)

It is a British standard...!

Just picking up on this, our rep has now seen all of his accounts making his samples redundant. We took quite a few but most of them have sold.
I have a lovely Legend and Velocity LE both exactly 2'10. Being samples they are UK made @InternalTraining
As they are samples that have done the rounds at trade shows and many miles in the reps car visiting retailers, they are showing various superficial dings and scuffs. As with the Legend that started this topic, they are reduced in price to reflect this. I've tried to reflect the damage in the photos, but it may not be clear. It's mostly small dings/scuffs in the spines and backs of the edges. The faces of the bats are immaculate. Bats come with a free padded bat cover and we offer free UK delivery.

This prices are even more pertinent considering i've just received an email from GN notifying us of price rises across the board from December 1st due to the change in the pound.

Chrsit @Vitas Cricket , they are both sex-sticks.
Didn't he have any Dynadrive samples?

Dynadrive was discontinued a few years back now, we did take a nice Sabre though...

^ Bats look great and this is a great deal!
And, thanks for the heads-up on GBP conversion. I am seeing similar changes vis-a-vis USD. Where are the awesome low density clefts (with bows :D) ? 😀
-
Ooooh! A nice Sabre you say?
-
Brucey you love the scoops!!!

Velocity LE sold.
