Title: My first B3 (It's a big un)
Post by: jimmy23 on September 21, 2016, 03:36:36 PM
So being new to the forum I flicked though some older posts and discovered that B3 did the Warner style replicas as well as the big Pepsi bat.

I dropped David an email and asked him what the difference was between the two and he told me to come down to the factory and have a look (I'm a 15 mins drive away from B3)

Last Thursday I popped down and had a look at the Pepsi bat and I decided to go with the fuller Warner big edge style, not bothering about dead weight, more the pick up of it.
Tuesday I get a phone call saying it's ready, so today I picked it up and it's a beast!
With toe guard and anti scuff it weighs in at 2.15 and picks up a dream.
Edges are around 51mm and spine 70mm   :)

And as I have kit OCD I bought the full set of softs as well!

With B3's "ready press" do you need to bother knocking them in these days?

I requested it knocked in, the edges look rounded so will start it with a few from the bowling machine first

Fantastic looking big bat, hope you score lots of runs with it and have a lot of fun! Looks a nice clean face for a 2 stripe.

A bat that big shouldn't only weigh 2.15, must be witchcraft. :D

Mahoosive!!! I wish I could wield a bat that heavy. Max for me is 2lb 10 oz.

That is a real brute. Mishits will carry over the fence :)

Well after a long winter I have finally had this in action and it performs as well as it looks.
Had a couple of bowling machine sessions first and whilst it was heavier than my previous bats, it only took me one or two sessions to really get used to it and now it feels great.
I have now used it in 3 or 4 net sessions (on a surface that bounces  like the Waca) and it has an absolute beast of a middle and can't wait to use it outside.
I just hope the new restrictions don't come into our league for a long long time!

@jimmy23 I got the same bat but in longblade as a backup of GN50+. Below is the thread if you want to take a look
