Folks,
First T-20 is underway between WI - Pak. WI put to bat by Pak skipper and WI are down 48/8 in 12 overs.
-
WI World T20 champions playing without coach Drama lol
-
5-fer for Imad Wasim - 4-0-14-5
-
WIndies 115 in 20 overs .
Pak start their chase - a big game for their new skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed.
-
Pak 84/1 in 12 overs. Sensible batting by the young team.
-
Clinical chase for Pak - 116/1 in 14.2 overs. Imad Wasim MOM for his 5 wicket haul.
WIndies in a bit of a disarray. What's going on?

Not sure about a "head" coach but they do have a batting coach (none other than) Toby Radford.

Hardly a new skipper

Hardly a new skipper
What do you mean? Yesterday was his second match as a skipper.
-
Pak 160/4 in 20 overs in the second T-20 of the series.
Chase is on!
-
West Indies 19/3 (5.3/20 ov)
-
Good inning by Narine!
-
WIndies put in to bat by Pak. WIndies at 94/5 in 18 overs.
-
WIndies 103/5 in 20 overs. Good bowling by Pak .
-
Pakistan 108/2 (15.1/20 ov) - white wash for Pak in the T20 series against the WIndies. A young, new captain and a fairly young team is doing the right things in the shortest format. What remains to be seen is how this application is translated to the ODI series where Pakistan is badly lagging in the world rankings.
-
Pakistan wins the ODI series 2-0 (with one match remaining in the series). Babar Azam scores consecutive centuries in two match. He seems like a good find for Pak.
-
He's got a mighty fine bat too.

Details please. :D
-
Good to see Pakistan do well in the limited overs format recently. Hoping Azhar Ali will be replaced as ODI captain by Sarfraz Ahmed. Don't know why it hasn't happened yet...
-
Young Babar Azam scored three consecutive ODI centuries and made history; PAK won against WI 3-0 in the ODI series and off we go to the pink ball/ day-night Test match between PAK and WI...

I like Sami Aslam's gloves. ;)
-
West Indies aren't gonna be competitive until their better players are actually selected for the Test side.
Gayle
Dwayne Bravo
Narine
Russell
Why are they all missing?

There's some long standing beef between a lot of the big name players and the WI Cricket Board.

it's been years going on hasn't it.....
I think the jist of it is WI cricket is broke. mis managed or just no funds take your pick on that one.
The new breed of WI superstars are millionaires, gayle and the like and just play T20 round the world. they wont get paid much playing test cricket, get slagged off by their own board and it all goes down the drain.
and if you disagree with the board you get sacked. Sammy T20 world cup winner just been booted by the board.
it's a bigger mess the the USA presidential elections

haha, well done BB. great effort that.
-
End of over 90 Pakistan 279/1.
Azhar Ali is the first centurian of the day-night Test cricket. Good application by Azhar and a good day for team PAK.
-
Azhar Ali becomes the first centurion and also the triple-centurion of the pink ball, D-N, Test cricket. PAK declare at 579, first inning. I bet Yasir Shah is raring to go.
-
Pakistan got rolled in their second innings for 123. West Indian leggie Dev Bishoo took 8/49(the second best figures ever by a WI spinner and the fifth best all time for a WI bowler). Bishoo also completed 10 wickets in the match.
All in all West Indies have been set 346 to win.
-
Oh, this is exciting! West Indies have a chance to take a lead in the Test series. Game on!
-
Great effort from bishoo. Windies 2 down in the chase.
Bravo's record away from home is pretty good! Got runs all over the subcontinent which isn't the easiest thing
-
Should be an enthralling final day. West Indies need 251 and Pakistan 8 wickets. Darren Bravo the key wicket.
-
More runs for bravo away from home.
84 to win with 4 wickets left, really up to these 2
-
Can West Indies actually win a test???
-
It will be some going if they do chasing 300 plus! :)
-
Bit of a careless run that.
-
Cracking test match.
But with 1 wicket left, 13 overs remaining and 61 runs needed. West Indies be hoping for the draw here.
-
Yasir Shah can't actually spin the bowl. Bishoo was getting it to go square yesterday. Shah bares gets any turn.

Once England stopped playing for turn he hardly got a wicket apart from the odd one they played around. He'll be slower to 200 test wickets I'm sure.

Just read the report on this match. The Bravo innings was special according to the report. He can certainly bat and will be carrying the WI batting for the next 5 years and beyond. He just needs a bit of support.

Agreed, seems like he has an abundance of patience and will. Batted beautifully, and was unlucky to end up on the losing side.
Think Pakistan's selection was made with Pink ball and day/night test in mind. As the 3 seamers, Sohail Khan specifically, hardly bowled much. Pretty sure they will make some changes for the next game. Zulfi B in?

He was immense, as good an innings as I can remember from an opposing batsman in the UAE and that includes Chef's epic double ton
-
I reckon Brendon McCullum's 200 after the death of Phil Hughes just about wins on the best innings in UAE stakes.

Nah, Pakistan couldn't be arsed when the test resumed after the day off. They gave catching practice with the bat and borderline declaration bowling and McCullum was just swinging the bat at everything. You could see that both teams didn't have their heart in it, the game should never have resumed and it was all a bit of a farce tbh.

Pakistan is playing 3 spinners, Zulfiqar Babar is back along side Yasir and Nawaz. That should be fun !

right decision 2 play 3 spinners I think
but surprised they rested both wahab and amir, and decided to stick with sohail

Sohail and Rahat Ali are the quicks in the team.

Interesting Test match in progress in Sharjah. Pakistan 287 & 87/4 West Indies 337. Pakistan lead by 31. West Indies have been surprisingly good and competitive in this series.
Pakistan looked on course for a big total in the first innings Sami, Younus, Misbah ans Sarfraz all made 50s, but Gabriel 3-67 and Bishoo 4-77 quelled their threat.
West Indies reply was all about the brilliant 142* by Kraigg Brathwaite. He became the 5th West Indian to carry his bat. Chase 50 and Dowrich 47 chipped in. Wahab 5-88 took his second Michelle. Yasir Shah didn't turn a ball on a pitch where Bishoo got a decent amount.
Pakistan where in disarray in their second innings 48-4, West Indian skipper Jason Holder 3-10. It would've been worst as Sarfraz was out off a no ball to Gabriel.
All to play for heading into day 4
-
West Indies should win this with only 39 needed and 5 wickets in hand. This partnership digging them out of trouble.
Brathwaite in the runs again
-
Not many sides win a test match in the UAE. West Indies have done pretty well.
Brathwaite sets a record for being unbeaten in both innings as an opener, carried his team
First win away for west indies in 9 years!
-
^ Good for team West Indies! They showed a lot of grit to come back and win the last Test match. They bowled well too. A busy Test schedule will do the Test side a lot of good. World of Test cricket needs a strong West Indies side. C'mon lads!
-
Kraigg Brathwaite could end up being his generations Shiv Chanderpaul, all the big names are becoming T20 mercenaries whilst Brathwaite will be left carrying the burden of the Windies batting...
