Sorry men - but I'm getting the feel for another net 'darn sarf'. I know one has been booked for late November, but I'm just wondering if any of the usual suspects (plus welcome new faces of course) fancied a net in October.
Usual format is a Saturday or Sunday afternoon at the excellent Eversley facility for 3-4 hours netting and some bananas. Mixture of bowling, batting and bowling machine.

Are you saying two different net dates and times or two lanes at the same time? Because I would imagine we will already have two lanes for 8 people 1 bowling machine 1 for bowling

I would have suggested the later, but being a noob at CBF nets that sounds like a better idea anyway!

We usually have two lanes anyway, one to tee off against 30mph half volleys out of the machine and one for our majestic bowling to tie batsman up no end ;)

If I remember correctly I don't think the other machine has a protective shield - you could always live dangerously and use that one instead?
Then after feeding me, you could live even more dangerously and feed Northern Monkey?

All depends on numbers but usually it's around the 20 pounds for the four hours

So, just finished off a few bats which i will be bringing to the Southern Net, unfortunately for @Woodyspin as he will be transporting a forest in his car.
have 8 to test out, 1 is not in the picture as it should only be seen in person.
all ready to go...ish...bit of extratec and the vantage need 30 mins knocking in.

we are all in the same boat, if you try to play the line of the ball it just diverts off in varying degrees of inswinger from a bit to just ridiculous.
I wouldn't normally advocate just swinging in any direction but you at least have half a chance.
and he sometimes brings bananas. How appropriate. :)

@goodarmcindy yes, i feel it was, feel slightly guilty as it is a CBF member, but there was quite a bit of damage to the handle/shoulders...which i feel i have repaired to a good standard. Added a few strips from a grip and extra binding to attempt an oval handle. cleans up nicely, but it has caused a few marks on my ceiling!

Getting excited now!! What's everyone bringing - anything interesting? I have Red Ink, B&S and B3 for people to play with.

Really good to see a few new faces, and it was quite fun batting against some new bowlers who brought with them some new challenges!
Te amount of serious willow on display was enviable, and I've never seen so many "genuine" Newbery's before!
Hopefully the bruises won't be too bad tomorrow, and I look forward to the next one😜

glad you enjoyed it. that's why it's 4 hours, you need down time to chat/fiddle about and pick up everyone else's bats to see if they are better than yours.
