Title: SA vs Aus
Post by: csnew on September 30, 2016, 12:00:39 PM
SA send Aus in on a flat track! Warner looking good for a big one.

Surprised Maxwell not picked after his t20 form

90 for 3 of 12. I'd say more likely to be all out than a big score.....

Players complain continuously about fatigue yet these two boards decided to schedule a meaningless 5 match series, for no other reason than boosting their revenues...

Coupled with the fact AB de Villiers is out for 2 months with elbow surgery and Australia's first choice bowlers are missing...not a lot going for this series

Hastings and Bailey to the rescue!

2 decent fifties rescuing aus here

Some pretty poor bowling in the first 10 overs! Then again what do you expect from a second string bowling line up

De Kock in some form! 11th odi 100 in 65 games. Far too easy against this bowling line up.

QDK going big here.

Very average bowling, but you can only play what's put in front of you.

Also,  cracking beer snake appearing in the crowd. Excellent work there by the saffers.

De Kock beating the ring on regular occasions. I'll let myself out.

Bowling what awful, but de Kock is getting up there will the likes of Kohli and Amla at the ridiculous amount of ODI hundreds they seem to score.

The Duke big John Wayne Hastings is up there with the most improved cricketers around at present.

I think Hastings has always been quality, nagging bowler with good variation who picks up wickets and gives the ball a good wack. I think the biggest thing that's held him back over the years has been is ability to pick up injuries at unfortunate times. He is a good lad to talk to as well, I always felt he deserved more than the one test he has.

Too many already...
South Africa should play out 50 maidens, on principal, in response...

Going down to the wire is this. David Miller on one leg smashes a 69 ball hundred to bring up his long overdue third ODI hundred.

There was this one shot that Miller played where he just clipped it off his legs and it went out of the ground. One of the best bits of timing I've seen in a long time. It was good that Miller went beyond his normal 'look good for 20-30'. Great run chase by SA. ODI cricket is very batsmen dominated though at the moment. It's a bit sad watching an all time great like Steyn getting absolutely smashed.

Love how Miller is still rocking the blue/yellow NB gear, that was by far the best looking colour scheme they've had

I think that is the new range Very dark blue/black and yellow

That's this years "new" colour scheme. I think Smiffy & Stokes are using them too

Although I agree in someways, I can't help think that if aus had Mitchell starc, 9 or if 10 times sa wouldn't have got near this total.

As for steyn, he is a great and will go down as one, but five years ago steyn wouldn't have gone for anywhere near that amount of runs.
He's not quite what he was currently.

But as they say, you can only play against the 11 on the field, and kudos to anal de kock and Miller, they chased well!

Not strictly true. Steyn was outstanding in the Tests against New Zealand. Lots of pace and swing. In ODI cricket Steyn's Test match line and length is what the batsmen look to flog around. Not really sure why Steyn bothers with white ball cricket, if he says fit he can easily get up to 550 Test wickets.

I agree with this - would love to see Steyn continue in Test cricket.......one of the greats of our generation!

Quiet in Here!

Davy Warner smashing 173! Massive innings last night.

Shame rest of aid didn't show up and sa white washed them 5-0.

You can say no starc etc, but there was no de villiers either!

Great knock by Warner yesterday but I'm still not convinced by Mitchell Marsh. I'm certainly glad England have Stokes as he would win the Ashes 'war of the allrounders' right now  :)

Very please for South Africa that they managed to pull off this series win. Australia, even missing some key players, should not be happy getting white washed by a South Africa team without ABDV, as well as Amla at times. Series provided an opportunity for some South Africa fringe players to show what they worth. Not often South Africa gets to beat the Aussies 5 - 0.

David Warner was also a class apart from the other Australian batsmen. Was given a life yesterday on 11 and took full advantage of it!

Thank goodness from video streaming so that I could follow it from the US!
