I've fixed far worse. Longevity afterwards is difficult to estimate/guarantee so it depends whether you feel the cost of a repair is worth it.
-
Can it be fixed - yes
Well the repair hold - maybe, maybe not
Is it worth doing - if you do it yourself yes, if you pay for a refurb possibly not as it could go again after one ball
-
This is a very promising product although I have not used it.

FiberFix is the real deal, it works really well for a variety of household and even car repairs. I'm not sure i would use it on a cricket bat though. It is black for starters, it also requires a few wrapped layers and sets hard like glass or resin, any area of the bat covered in this product would see a dramatic loss in performance i would suspect.

The only way to fix that is too buy the new shape B&S Fireflight arrived today

Dammit - you're good!

Only learnt from you Fattus The Master ;)

Personally I think this would be difficult to fix well. Firstly it may be difficult to get the glue fully into the split. Then the glue causes the area to be stiffer than its surroundings, this can lead to further splitting.
-
A clean break like that is incredibly easy to open up and fill with glue when you know how :)
-
So, in your opinion is it worth £45? In my opinion a front to back split, particularly in the Middle of the blade has a fairly short life.
-
Have you two not read my post :) :) :)
-
Entirely up to the owner, as it's hard to predict or guarantee longevity. I have repaired far worse, including a bat over 3 years ago that is still in use every weekend for a local customer.
Of course as Gary says, the best answer is always 'buy a new bat'
-
Agree with Jake a easy fix that to do just longevity may be a issue but in truth it is with every bat.
If it is a bat you use, I would get it fixed.

Did anyone see JP Gavan's instagram of him fixing that bat the other day? it was far worse than this! he seemed happy with it, looked like he drowned it in glue and tied it up and clamped it as tight at possible, left it for 3 days. looked pretty good to me!
