My season never really got going I changed clubs in Jan 2016 to cut down on travelling turned out to be up there with the worst cricketing decisions of my career after 3 matches in  by mid May couldn't wait to leave couldn't play for 2 weeks due to club I wanted to leave Sec messing up my transfer form.
Went back to my old club at the being of June  played 3 matches then had to stop playing due to my mother who lived 200 miles away becoming terminally ill which led to me being away from home.
Started playing again at the end of July. 2 matches were rained off in August  played on the last Saturday of August which was the last match  didn't get a bat as the rain came down.
Through it all never felt out of form with the bat just short of consistency and match practice.

May have been my first ever season as an adult (stopped playing as a kid), but I was terrible with the bat in the limited opportunities I got. Didn't bowl, happy with that. Fielding felt good on the whole, although injuries have bothered me at certain points.

Club finished with winning 15 and losing 6, so overall pretty happy. Room for improvement.

First season back for a while and really enjoyed it playing with a great bunch of guys including @uknsaunders @19reading87 and @Maverick79 on here!

Good season for the club gaining promotion after finishing runners up.

Personally I'm just glad to be back playing and enjoying my cricket again had a few starts both Saturday's and Sunday's and three runs away especially on my league debut where batting at 8 got to 18 then played a horrendous hoik across the line where a boy out and runs where there for the taking and getting stumped on 33 for the Sunday side while my opening partner went on to get 90!

Really looking for next year and hopefully giving more to the team with both bat and ball!

Roll on 2017!

Finished the league season with an average of 42. Overall 700+ runs at over 40. And captained a promotion winning team. Time to winter well now

Scored more league runs in a season than ever before with my H4L Matt Coles bat. Plus my team reached the final of the village cup so I got to play at Lords. We got absolutely stuffed but despite the result it probably has to be my best cricketing experience.

Can't wait to see what H4L have got lined up for 2017!

Scored my highest league score, beating my previous best by 1 run. 3 out of the 4 sides I played for won their divisions and gained promotion.
Also reached 3 20/20 finals and lost the lot.

Poor poor.

Started of wth a few decent 40s but then strugglesd in single figures.

Dropped form opening to 7 with no upturn in fortune.

A broken finger at work then put me out for 4 weeks. On return and ecent few scores midweek got me opening again sat and 3 fifties followed. I then started to play lms to make up for games I missed.

Just shy of 700 runs at 30 avg for all formats doesn't look to bad but in reality I felt poor and only one purple patch boosted my figures. And lms was too easy.

Hopefully I can remain fit and score 1000 runs for the first time in a season.

My best season so far, only shame was missing 7 games worth of bowling due to a side strain mid season :(

Highlight was getting 6 hundreds, going to be hard to top next year.

Year   Games   Inns   NO   Runs   High   Avg   50s   100s   Ducks   % Team Runs
2016     33            32   10   1526    147* 69.36   6      6      1                   23.65

Year   Overs   Maidens   Runs   Wickets   Best Bowling   5 Wicket Hauls   Economy Rate   Strike Rate   Average   % Team Wickets
2016    129.4  14            527     30               5/9                  2                 4.07             25.93     17.57                      22.22

Had a poor 2016 season, we (finally) moved in March so was at a new club. Started in the 1's (which i was always a filler for) then went on holiday for a week and came back to being in the 2's. Being new i mainly batted 6 or 7 so didnt get a great chance to show what i can do and even when i did get the chance to move up i didnt take it. Was dropped to the 3's one week and then was back up. Got 29 (top score of the season which says alot) batting at 3 in the 2's only to be dropped again which at the time thought was harsh and then didnt really get a proper go after that.

Off the field my father in law passed away so all in all it summed up its only a game and there are far more important things. Made some new friends at my new club so want to get my head down over the winter, shift some weight and come back firing in 2017

I missed quite a few league games this season for one reason and another (weddings, holidays, kids ill on Saturday morning! etc...) so all in all had a good enough season opening the batting and keeping (although how much longer my body stands up to doing both i am not sure!) - carried my bat twice so meant i was on the park the whole day for 2 games this season keeping as well.

Highlight was definitely an 197 opening stand which apparently is a new club record.

League Stats -

Year   Games Inns   NO   Runs   High   Avg   50s   100s   4s   6s   Ducks    % Team Runs
2016   13       12    2     444      102* 44.4  1      1     36      3       0        19.76

Keeping - 8 catches (think i left a few for 1st slip as i am getting old!) and 7 stumpings

R and R over the winter and nets will be here before you know it!

Not a bad season all things considered. Captained our 1st XI, having been promoted last year, finishing mid table.

Batting: 700 runs at 35                     - Not a bad return for me, but just too legside dominant still, fine in nets, appalling in a game!
Bowling: 43 wickets at 16.16             - Generated some decent pace, and the most league wickets in our club for the last 12 years, so well pleased. Ended the season with quite a few niggles (shoulder, knees & ankle) so enjoying a little rest from bowling at the moment.

The club had a great season, bowing out of the Pontefract league as champions! Personally I had another good year with the ball, coming 2nd in the club and league averages to my new-ball partner.

Overs        194.2
Maidens     35
Runs          689
Wickets      48
BB             6/31
5 fors         3
Eco.           3.55
S/R            24.29
Ave           14.35
% Wickets 27.59

Looking forward to a new challenge in the Bradford league structure next season!

Odd season.  Started well,  picked up a shoulder injury and didn't really recover until mid season. Once back it felt like I was taking with wickets for fun 21 @ 14 on Saturday and another 15-20 on Sunday,  mixed between ashorne,  Marlow vets and a couple of games in MK. With the bat I did ok,  averaged 15 but scored more for the vets,  50 and 49 were my highest scores in vets mode.

Highlight of the season was getting promoted and sharing it with my fellow forum members.

Really enjoyed this season which compared the the previous year when I was close to jacking it in is really good. My first year at a new club and we won promotion with 3 games to spare

Played 7 sat league games (play every other week due to family commitments) 6th top run scorer in the league 259 behind first place who played twice as many matches so really happy with my return
Innings 7
Runs 468
Avg 58.6
2 X tons
12 catches
5 stumpings

Sunday
Innings 5
Runs 194
Avg 47.4
0 tons
2 X 50's
7 catches
3 stumpings

Just over 650

Chuffed with how my season went this year! Bowled in a lot of t20 hence why the economy rate isn't down ideally where it should be but that's what happens when you play a lot of cricket.
Broke my clubs record for wickets in a season

Overs        300.5
Maidens     25
Runs          1536
Wickets      75
BB             7/37
5 fors         4
Eco.           5.01
S/R            24.73
Ave            21.04
% Wickets  28.85

Still a lot to go and work on over the winter!

Decent season in the end, started out in ignominy with a golden duck on my return from a season off, batting at 5 with the score 250/3 off 30 overs when I walked in....

Ended up 1 team higher, playing a few important innings including almost seeing us through a big run chase (out in final over) and invariably batting with the tail most weeks.  What I loved was being the glue that held the innings together, often walking in in a crisis and trying to bat through.  Ended up averaging 30.75 from 18 matches with 2x 50 (highest 62*) which I thought was a decent return considering we ended up relegated.

I've been using my trusty Kook which is 4 years old now, and as it is a lightweight 'touch player' G3 bat at 2.7 it lacks a bit of meat.  Quite often I couldn't quite get the power when playing the big shots (especially off the slow medium and spinners) and I think it's time for a new bat.  Even at 39 I felt this year my technique had changed and I was a lot more attacking but didn't have the willow to match, so I will be getting myself a new weapon for next season.

I've had a crap season
Poor umpiring
Stupid gaps in the middle of the season, due to the league not having any brains
Dodgy action bowlers,(his teammates nickname for him is chucker!)
Broke my bat and my finger
And I won't mention our new captains ability or lack of

All meant, I've had enough
I may play for my lads team down at minehead, a few games
Or not
Other than that, I'm loving the unofficial Cbf Southern nets we've been having

Batting wise, I think I averaged 27 or something
I don't think I bowled more than 5 overs

In fact I'm getting peed off just thinking about this season

Roll on next year and pastures new

My league stats for 2nd XI:

Overs    Maidens   Runs    Wkts     Best    5fers     Econ.    S/R       Ave.
69.0          14        206     21       5/22     1           2.99    19.71    9.81

1st XI:
Overs    Maidens   Runs    Wkts     Best    5fers     Econ.    S/R       Ave.
17.2           3          61         6      3/16       0        3.52    17.33    10.17

Overall (inc. Cup, T20s and Friendlies)
Overs    Maidens   Runs    Wkts     Best    5fers     Econ.    S/R       Ave.
147.5        20        567       39       5/22      1        3.84    22.74    14.54

Didn't bowl as much as I'd wanted to / haven't bowled so few overs since 2009! My own fault though, I've become less greedy as a captain and don't bowl myself until 3/4 change and even bowled spin on a few occasions. plus being dropped to the 2s pissed me off quite a bit... so let's just build for next year. Playing a lot of racquet sports for the stamina and agility, which I noticed helped a lot!

Decent season all around, team got promoted and I finished top 10 league batting (447 @ 38) and top 15 bowling (29 @ 20).

Mainly happy with some important knocks though, guiding the team through a couple of games where we were wobbling. Hoping for a strong season next year on and off the field for the club!

practice hard in the winter, concentrate on your strengths and it will all turn around next season.

I was finished, washed up,eye sight gone, technique gone for a burton in 2015 and averaged 8 in league cricket. Dumped from opening, dumped out of my team into the threes, and needed ear plugs to stop team mates talking about me.

back in the seconds(my team) first game this year by total default as we were short. Ended 2016 second top scorer in the team and one of the first names on the team sheet.and we got promoted back to Div 1 for next year.

How? CBF nets of course. I owe the lads from the forum. Anyone need the bowling machine feeding?  :)

back yourself,  go back to basics, defend straight hit it very hard in attack.  :)

One thing i learnt not being a batsman is forget you're playing cricket for the first 5/10 balls, grove yourself into the oppositions game, after all they have the momentarily upper hand, taking a wicket and having a new batsman at the crease that has no idea how the pitch is going to play to his advantages. Once i forgot this I was playing properly, i soon went on to score 42, highest score of the year for me, hoping the improve next year after completely changing my batting technique this year thanks to Buzz

Played seven games, 2 friendlies and 5 village league games. My league side won the league and I would say I batted pretty well in most games. Felt good at the crease and scored a couple of Daddies.

Just one disappoint for me when I flapped at one in a big game and gave away a start in a run chase. Still frustrated by that.

All good. Am just desperate to play more!

Shocker of a season for me, after finishing 7th in the bowling averages for the Bristol leagues last year I bowled 48 overs in all cricket this year. Felt in good shape with the bat but never got going, shunted around the order all year and only played a couple of decent length innings, high score of 54. Didn't help that our pitches were woeful all year. Not what I was hoping for at the start of the season!
Bring on winter nets and next year. Bought a sidearm for the missus to use, judging by early net sessions I'm in for a lot of practise against the short ball...

A fairly decent start to my first ever season in cricket. I missed a fair chunk of the season with various ankle injuries but opened the bowling throughout the season.

My figures were:

Games: 10
Overs: 49
Maidens: 2
Runs: 279
Wickets: 13
Economy: 5.6
Average: 21

My inability to bowl maidens let me down, I was pretty much guaranteed to bowl one boundary ball an over. But then again I've never been coached at all so I can't be too harsh on myself ( and it turns out experienced players shouting " come on, hit top of off!" Doesn't automatically make you bowl a good ball, who would have thought it!)

Batting wise my average will be somewhere in the single figures. Batted at 10 most of the year, coming in with a few overs to spare and being told to swing which doesn't really suit me. Still think with a bit of coaching I might make a half-decent opener as I've got a solid defence and can put away a bad ball.

My real contribution this year was fielding wise, we don't record those stats but I will have at least 10 catches, I didn't drop one all year! Saved a lot of boundaries being the young one in the field as well!

Will miss a part of the season as I'm at uni this year, will be trying to find a club in Huddersfield for the start of the season hopefully!

Decent season both as a coach and player.

53 wickets I think, down two on last year but I played uni games last season as well as a full league season.
12 games for my club 1s, top score of 40 vs Pinkneys Green, best figures of 5/19 vs Taplow. 26 wickets at 15 in the end. Batting average in the teens, that is something to improve on. Ended up second in div 1.
5 games for 2s, 37* vs Taplow 2, 5/41 vs Great Kingshill 1. 2s ended up relegated from div 2.
Sundays brought me a handful of wickets, 4 I think for CSG, 4 for Firle and 3 for the Frogs. 4 half centuries, 68 and 69 retired for CSG, 70* for Firle and 62* for Frogs. A few wickets in league knockout cup, and a few runs and wickets for Knotty Green.

Ended the season with decent haul of awards: U15s league winners, county cup runners up, league runners up. Lads only lost two games all season, bucks cup final and the north v south division champions play off. Also Chilterns league runners up, and won the young player of the year award for my wickets and match changing performances.

Also started doing some work with @edynamo on my bowling, and have felt the difference/improvement already! Seeing him next weekend for a session on my way up to Liverpool for GB U24 ultimate trials.

Pretty good season had a bit of coaching in the pre season which helped improve my saturday league average from 25 to 40 scored 450+ opening the batting in 13 innings. Probably averaged 45/50 in all cricket for my club and won the player of the season award at the presentation dinner last Friday. Can't wait for 2017 to start already. The coaching begins for me in December and the preseason club nets in Jan/Feb.  :D
