"These days everyone’s bat is very good. Everyone has a different choice, and I like everyone’s bats."

Your tweet actually got me thinking about players bats and you are right ref his ..
-
The bat that he used in the current test to score 188 looked ugly. Uneven grains going all across the blade.. uneven heartwood. Goes to show looks and performance are entirely diff things .. :D
-
Agreed there that's what brought me to this topic and Alvaro tweet about his bat.
Interesting player to watch is Rahane very classy player
-
And currently trying to find various articles about players and their bats found one from Kholi Australian tour where he got his bats lighter.
The inner geek is interested in the top players bats and why and what they use.
-
I was really surprised at how light his bats are. I would have thought that he would use something 2lb 10ozs plus.
-
The bat he's holding up looks to taper out towards the bottom
I'm sure it's just the camera angle, but has anyone shaped a profile like that?
-
A lot of makers narrow the blade going upwards
-
No way
Didn't know that
Your substantial cricket knowledge never fails to impress
Which bat makers are more prone to this practice? Out of curiosity
-
Our pro this year was from Mumbai, sure he plays for the same club that Rahane used to. He had a bat that was off Rahane, was nothing special to look at. It obviously had been well used by both Rahane & by our Pro. Wasn't very heavy around 2.8-2.9

Most of this bats are 1240-1260gms which is 2lb 11-12oz

That's one way of reducing weight on a bottom heavy bat.
-
I would try and fix sadly
-
Cut the other side off and you've got a SSB that's all middile :D

Cool every day is a school day.
On another note I'm on the hunt for a certain shape.
Got to love the Indian players profile of bats.
