probably the loss of toss or pitch is to blame.

I feel he still has a lot to offer the Kiwis

Absolutely nothing wrong with the pitch, the Somerset legend Sunny Gavaskar called it 'an absolute road', and he knows Indian conditions as good as anyone.
New Zealand's batsmen where reckless. Just because India had a debutante opening the bowling it doesn't mean you can't have a look. Pandya to be fair bowled with good pace and found some late movement. The ball that got Taylor out was a cracker.
Latham showed how good the pitch was, his 79* was a beautiful innings. And late on when the ODI King Kohli batted he showed how good a batting pitch it was.
New Zealand need to engage their brains ahead of the second ODI.

India bowl first. Nz have not won the toss once this tour!
-
King Kane.
-
NZ losing their way. 6 down. 260-270 max now.
-
King Kohli....
This has guy has become a machine, not a human anymore :D
-
Best white ball player on the planet, especially chasing his stats are outrageous
-
Ross Taylor dropped Virat on 6 and it was an absolute dolly. Kohli is a machine mind you. He averages 90 in winning chases. Absurd
-
Mishra is ripping the heart out of the New Zealand middle order, 5-18 off 6 overs
I hope England isn't watching
-
OOOPS, Only Pop Out For 10Mins And It's Almost Over. And It Is Now.
-
Nz played this tour with 9.5 players. Taylor should have been dropped and guptill was poor
-
Mishra despite being player of the series will get axed when Ashwin and Jadeja return...despite having a better ODI record than both
