Title: Bairstow's Bat
Post by: key on October 17, 2016, 04:18:48 PM
Having seen Jonny Bairstow's bat and the success he has with it ( obviously not just because of the bat ),
I was wondering if anyone knows what profile he uses. Is it a standard Gray Nicolls or a custom design?

Also, would B3 be able to replicate this shape, despite me having no pictures of it (less the ones found on google).

Thanks

I've found a few pictures of the bat! How would you describe it?

B3 should be able to, I've no idea as to whether it's a normal gray nics shape but from what I've seen it's a mid middle bat with duckbill toe and the toe is square with some concaving

Thanks! I've updated the best with a few pictures and if you could describe in any more detail with the pictures that would be great!

Might be worth having a look of @madebygraynics on twitter, Chris posts lots of pictures of the pro bats he makes so sure a close up of Bairstows profile will be there st some point

The shape he is using in Bangladesh is very subcontinental.

No edge stamp either....

Im not certain but in that video the bat looks as if it may be a slightly shorter blade longer handle

Yes this is most likely the case, I know Joe Root uses this bat length configuration.

The pick-up and bat speed would be great for this kind of profile

He's right you know, fiberglass tape well positioned to hold on used stickers too.

The really sad thing is, I saw during the game that there was glue gunk and gold leaf up near the shoulders where the SS sticker had been pulled off but not white spirited away... :(
