Title: shrinking whites

has anyone tried to shrink their whites as I have purchased a pair of gray nics whites that are too big.

Mine shrink over the winter! When I put them on in the summer they are tight. Can't understand why that is!!

I'm guessing the only way is to wash them on a hot wash and put them in the dryer on maximum. Not sure how effective that is with polyester, certainly shrinks my hockey socks.

Yes put them in a hot wash and then in the tumble  dryer on hot the down side is the legs will shrink as well as the waist.

Leave them in the wardrobe, then try them on again after Christmas. Chances are they will have shrunk, as if by magic.
