Title: Gray Nics 2017 Visit Today
Post by: Vitas Cricket on November 08, 2016, 12:32:57 PM
We've had a lovely morning at GN HQ in robertsbridge, the quality of willow on offer was worth the 5am start!

We were the first retailer to visit and had the whole place to ourselves to select our pre Christmas drop of new bats. Some interesting news in the pipeline surrounding GN, as well as various players but that will come out in the wash soon enough.

Will post some photos when we return home this afternoon. We've picked some belting bats in superb weights!

Any news on the other new kit or do you not get that from the GN factories?

Softs etc arriving soon, we don't look at or take any of that on bat selecting days, too busy with willow!

We grabbed a handful of bats today, mostly for pre-order customers with the rest of the bats we selected due to be delivered to us on Friday. Sorry to say the Halestorm bats are not yet available, but we will be returning for those in due course.

Is it correct to assume that only the Legend is U.K. Made ?

GN don't specify what is made where unfortunately.

Please excuse the photos, scuff sheets and the strip lighting in our showroom don't mix too well.

I have mainly concentrated on the new models as well as the Classic range, particularly the new entry level price point; the Ultimate. We have plenty of Supernovas and Powerbows too, just ask if you are looking for something specific. Below are a few examples of what we have in stock.

2'6

So many 2'9 bats to choose from, i quickly picked out this lovely Velocity LE as well as a couple of bargains including probably the best looking 400 grade i've seen

For those of you interested in the shape of the 2 new models, the Velocity and the Predator, please see below. Velocity is a high spine small edge bat, whereas the Predator has larger edges and an offset profile, actually very similar to a GM Neon.

All weights are listed above each group of photos, the photo with the Ultimate is a group of bats at 2'9.

Ultimates are £125 with free UK delivery.

I think all bats should be displayed in a chunk of wood like that prestige!

2017 looks an eminently better year for big brand willow than 2016.

That is stage one of their new point of sale display stand, we will get various units and add ons to build a cool display around that stump. Not bad for an autograph bat is it?

Patience @smilley792 the big bats and a few other models were not available when we visited, it is one of the downside of being first to visit in our experience, often we have to go back in order to be able to pick everything!

They should be in by the end of the month.

We haven't bothered with GN this time around as we have been a bit busy with our new H4L stock.  ;)

You should have those 3lb 4oz H4L Monster's in the trunks. Very Excalibur-esque.

Only he who can wield it, may use it.

I love Gray Nics and love the minimalistic look so I've took some of the stickers off my f18 to look a bit legendish. My budget is tiny hence me mainly buying Sports Direct tat but that £125 Ultimate is looking tempting! It's a thing of beauty
