Title: Wheelie bag for a tour
Post by: UpandOver on November 12, 2016, 09:47:25 PM
Hi,

So I'm going on tour early next year to South Africa and am looking for a bigger bag than my current duffle as it won't be able to carry all of my kit and the weight will be a pain to have to carry around.
Therefore, I'm looking for a wheelie which is pretty big but also quite good for wheeling around so a good handle is a must. Also it needs to be fairly robust because let's be honest baggage handlers don't understand cricket kit is fairly valuable.
I should add that I'm a keeper so have a lot of kit as well as other clothes and stuff I'll probably end up stashing in there.
Not too sure on what the new 2017 wheelies are like so hopefully somebody might be able to advise of any of them would be able to do the job or if some of the 2016 are perfectly good as well.

Many thanks in advance.

Thanks, that does look like a good option.
Do you know what the build quality is like because I know of quite a few of their smaller stand up bags ripping at the pockets and things like that?

I've had my aero standup tour wheelie for ages . I thrash it on public transport and long walks etc . Its finally starting to die . I will replace it with another one,  they are great .
You have to work out how to pack them but they have enough room for keeping kit plus spare gloves , second pair of spikes , 3 bats , drinks etc etc . The pockets don't rip easily or anything like that .
I wish they had more colour options though .

I'll call out the Slazenger wheeled duffle from SD it's a cracking bag that's huge and seems well built and £20

You should wait for the new Kookaburra Players bag. Big enough to carry all your kit, but with the added bonus of it made from a new tarpaulin material that's very strong and durable.

I had the large 808 GM wheelie split down one seam after a years use including 3 round trips U.K. To Shanghai, very disappointed.

You have one for sale, don't you? Am I allowed to say that on a non-'sale' thread?

My GM OLE wheelie fell apart after one season, and the only overseas trip that made was from Southampton to the Isle of Wight!
