So my girlfriend has surprised me and brought me a pair of batting pads. I've already told a couple of you about my new purchase but just seeing if anybody had any information on them or experience of using them.
The pads in question are some Kookaburra Kahuna 900's.
She got them from Millet Sports for a great price of £17.50 posted! Here are the pads. Just waiting for them to arrive now.

More pads?
How many legs do you have!?
Edit: Have the equivalent from the 2014 season. Not bad, not great. Felt flimsy compared to my top end Puma's (Not really a fair fight).

More pads?? I own 1 pair... I don't ever keep pads. If o don't like or want them... I get rid (normally at a loss)

They won't fit around your calves*
*no idea really, but that is your normal excuse to bin pads!
-
If you dont like them, use them in nets... could you imagine the grief you would get if you binned them or didn't use them? and if she asks why dont you use them in a game tell her the set she bought are really good a breathable so you can wear them with shorts on and you dont sweat as much in them! where as the other's make you sweat and you dont want them both to get smelly and get ruined!
no I havm't been in this situation... Yes my mrs believes all the (No Swearing Please) that come out of my mouth...

That excuse will no longer be valid now he's done so well slimming @Buzz

Just try them in nets mate I'm sure you'll find a use for pads
-
Wonder how many of @19reading87 's 5900 odd posts have been about pads or for sale post selling pads....
-
So.... an update on this
The girlfriend had an email off millet sports saying only part of her order had been dispatched. She rang them to see what was going on, the lad said he'd go away and see as he couldn't figure out what had happened. She actually ordered 2 pairs
Turns out only one pair have been sent, they've refunded her £17.50 on the pads, and.... knocked £7.50 off the pair that's coming to me! So I've got the pads for £10 posted, should be with me tomorrow/Tuesday.

thats a cracking deal!!

Could turn out to be the bargain on the century! And I can't get rid of them, well at least not if I want to keep my testicles

They don't have a proper knee cup and much of the lining is made of the sort of cloth material i would expect from a cheaper pad
At the top end Kookaburra are still good and comparable to the other big brands. You've got them at a great price but at the original pricing they are in the same ballpark as the GN Prestige and GM 909, and for me there's no contest at all.
Kook have been lagging behind softs wise at this upper mid range price point for a couple of years. 2 years ago we were telling Kookaburra about it, there were some changes but not enough, this summer just gone customers have sent a clear message with their buying choices. We have a lot of stock leftover at this sort of price point, it's perhaps why you got them at such a good price

I reckon for £10 they will be just a net pair of pads. Having watched IJC review on them it matches everything you've just said.
Still leaves me the room to buy yet more pads 😋

@19reading87 having three pairs of pads makes sense, wet weather pads, net pads and match pads....
Cough sputter more money that sense!
-
@Buzz - that's just getting silly now!!! I have no money, nor sense... so, I'm screwed.
The most pairs I've pads I've owned at one time is 2. Shocking I know!
