Title: Strettons in design
Post by: Calzehbhoy on December 02, 2016, 09:44:36 PM
My wife has kindly offered to buy me some Stretton's for Christmas and I'm currently in the design and sizing phase with @StrettonFox Sports . Being a Celtic fan I've come up with the idea of having the Celtic FC tartan on the back with a black front and my initials in green on the front (see pic below) obviously I know it's not to everybodies taste but wondered what people's thoughts were (I'm terrible at design) and if anybody had any suggestions to enhance their appearance at all. All sensible suggestions welcome.

Wonderful, the inner side does look good. Maybe you can have crest of your team on bottom right of outside guard?

Perhaps bigger font size as well?

Like the tartan, I'd have the two sides the other way around though personally?

Agree with the above. Would be a shame to hide the tartan, but I guess it depends on how it would show through your whites?

What about outer pad has the tartan on the inside and the inner pad on the outside?

I like them as they are. Nice and simple design. But with your own touch.

@HallamKeeper did you request the hip protector also?

He said the hip protection is built in to it.

They actually arrived this afternoon. I'm very happy with them, just need to bend them into shape.

They look great! Big fan! Might have to mention the hip protector as doesn't look like it's on my design.

Cheers, I like your design too. If you wanted to put a team badge on them George suggested the middle is best so the straps don't cover it. Maybe the Celtic badge?

Make sure you bend them good an proper. They can take some hammer, you don't need to worry about damaging them.

Had a good bending session (an odd sentence). Only realised how big my thighs are! The product of hockey and wicket keeping I suppose.

How do you prevent them getting bent in your bag and losing the shape you want?

Never had that issue(both that they don't bend in the bag, and I have small legs)

So I received my Stretton's this morning and I must say I'm pleasantly suprised by just how good, than and light they are! The build quality feels absolutely fantastic and the materials used feel second to none and extra comfy when I tried them on earlier.

I'm yet to try out their protection but sure there'll be no problems there.

I did change the design shape of George's regular design slightly to allow for my leg size/shape and feel this shape works a lot better than the standard shape.(See image below)

All in al, George is an absolute pleasure to deal with and I am super happy with my purchase, really nice extra touch from George in adding my initials to the bag too.

Thanks @StrettonFox Sports

Got to wear these for the first time today and am even more impressed with them and delighted with my purchase. I was hit 4 times on the inner thigh pad and didn't feel a single one, the protection really is amazing.

As for comfort, I wore them above my trousers so can't say 100% but barely felt they were there when they were on and they were a lot, lot less bulky and much more comfortable than my P2's.

Fantastic, the more you use, more you will like them.

Yours do look very nice, but then I haven't seen a shabby Stretton Fox. What I like about George is how he is always making his products better.

Those handwritten notes are extremely touching!

I've been netting with mine for a while now, really like them. I still need to play about with them and haven't tried them under trousers as yet. I don't get hit there very often at pace but I haven't felt a thing yet.
