No Sam Curran? Guess there's too many seam bowlers automatically qualifying from the South.

I agree! South look much stronger than the north, who on truth, look weak

North side could be stronger - odd that Alex Lees, Stephen Parry, Rikki Clarke etc not in there

Gurney?  That's a wind up surely?  How is he going to get it off straight in the UAE?

Not a chance - Wood and Bresnan might, as both reverse the ball, and Curran gets some decent swing so could move the new white ball a bit.  But Gurney....nah.

Not quite sure why this is being played abroad,I guess it's to improve players skills in foreign conditions but I reckon this would get a decent crowd over here

certainly would with Test players in, as a proper Test trial.

Hameed, Jennings, Root, Hain (Ballance?), Bairstow, Stokes, Bresnan, Buttler, Rashid, Wood, Broad (Jimmy rested to protect his body!)

vs

Cook, Gubbins, Bell-Drummond, Westley, Roy, Foakes, Dawson, Ansari, Curran T, Roland-Jones, Finn

Well those wouldn't be fair teams!!

Aside from James Vince, I don't think I have missed anyone out. Indeed, there are more misses from the north side - no space for Hales, Patel, Barker, Lyth, Brooks...

I deliberately discounted the two leads leaving Durham for Surrey, purely for the timeline issue.
