Title: younis khan's kit bag
Post by: brokenbat on December 25, 2016, 07:40:33 PM
Keeps a duffle bag in the main kit bag (40s mark in the video) - now thats a real kit badger.

Talks about the importance of clean pads ("to look good"). Says "if you look after your gear, then your gear will look after you, in the field" - kinda like that.

Then shows the biggest repair kit I've seen in a kit bag (2:06), calling it the "heart" of his kit bag. Kinda amusing that he refers to bat damage as an "injury" to the bat - the man clearly loves his bats and makes them last as long as possible. Obviously not part of the new generation of cricketers!

^ That is awesome!

I have a smaller version of a duffel bag for carrying bats to the net - a field-hockey bag and you can fit two/three bats in it. Keeps your bat out of sun when in the nets.

It is a piece of wood and black string hr uses to hold/press the crack after filling the glue.

I noticed that there were also kit bag videos by Steve Rixon and Khalid Latif:

Khalid Latif

Steve Rixon

Without knowing the language, I presume Khalid Latif goes into some detail explaining his bats. Could someone please translate?

Khalid latif is saying that 1st bat is new custom made for him. 2nd bat is the one he used in England. 3rd bat is his Favorite bat a, he played PSL with it, hit a 108 meters six and he loves this one. 4th one is also a special profile and right now he is using it in nets.

@jd163 what does he say about the duffle?
He says having a duffle helps him carry the stuff he wants from the big kit bag to the ground. It helps him avoid carrying the heavy kit bag to the ground (practice nets etc).

I've just spent 4 minutes watching a video where I understood none of the dialogue, and I loved every minute.

And now the fielding coach has done a "what's in my kit bag" video. What a time to be alive!

He ends by saying: "it is very important to look after your kit. Because if you look after your kit, then your kit will look after you when you are out there".

Brought a tear to my eyes

If you mean his bats , they were H.S bats ( they all looked like Core 5's but his usual bats are Core 7's ). From the look of things he is using a new H.S model a.t.m against Australia.  It looked like it was branded 'YK72' but I could be wrong .

Sorry - I was referring to Latif's bats.
