Im so frustrated with everyone writing off 50 over cricket. I love the format. I love tests foremost then ODI's.
I love ODIs because you can actually see batsmen play awesome shots and score attcking/grafting centuries.
How many centuries can you see in 20/20? Dont get me wrong I like 20/20 and realise thats where the money is, but they shouldnt get rid of ODI's.
You can see teams come from behind and win. How many of us have been sitting on the edge of our seats when there is 20 runs to win with 2 overs and the tail enders trying to bring it home? ODI's are like nothing else.You can see batsmen struggle and conquer the bowling. Its like a fast paced test match. You can see truly agressive cricket being played.
For me 20/20 starts with a bang then fizzles. The team that scores heavy during 5-15 overs win. No chance of watching a battle.
ANYONE can hit sixes. Thats all 20/20 is about. ODI's are real action.
I could hit 6's and swing wildly at the bowling at 20/20 games.
Who the hell wants to see Ponting, Dhoni, Peiterson etc get 2 runs and then watch bowlers swing wildly and getting 30's and 40's?
Im getting sick and tired of this crap.
They are reducing great batsman to ball park hitters.
I dont have a problem, with 20/20 as long as it doesnt cause the extinction of ODI's.
I'd rather a cover drive for 4 than a top edge for 6.

Although I watched an ODI a while ago and it did feel like it dragged on. I loved Pro40, It was pefect for building and innings mixed with scoring quickly, shame thay scrapped it :/

ODI pitches need something for the bowlers.
Flat roads and tiny boundries are killing bowlers
Also the bowlers overs restrictions should be changed so that three bowlers can bowl 12 overs, one bowler can bowl 8 and 6 can be done by a part-timer. This would make a more balanced contest between bat and ball

to be honest, my favourite form of cricket to watch is pro40! when watching a 50 over game live at a ground it just seems about 1 hour too long and begins to get boring when 30 overs into an innings there are still 20 left! there is still time to see high individual and team scores in 40 overs, and also time to see some real good bowling efforts.
dont get me wrong i love test cricket and 4 dayers as there is opportunity to see some great cricket, but entertainment wise it has to be 40 overs.
