I picked this up today at GCCC. Had my visa application appointment and was already close to Albion so thought I'd pop in. I had no intentions of buying anything after tidying up and organising all my gear the night before and seeing how much excess I really have, but as it goes, I immediately went looking for bats and nothing else haha. Picked this up and just instantly loved the way it felt. I'm usually alright but can be picky with certain things, but this was perfect to me in terms of weight, size, handle. The other two there were the same model and weight, but they were noticeably smaller but felt heavier. I always find the mallet not very effective for really seeing what a bat is like, but GCCC don't let you use a ball to tap up, so I compared it to all the higher end TON bats as well as the NB, GN, Kookaburra, CA, GM and it compared very nicely, although this didn't matter to me as I was channelling my inner David Hussey "Pick it up. Feels good. Runs" and it felt great haha. Once I got home I was very impressed as it felt much better with the ball than off the mallet.
Weighs in at 2lb9oz's on the nose but feels much lighter to me. I didn't really notice edge size at all till 5 minutes ago when I measured them for here and was surprised to see they are 39-40mm and I guess the spine is 65mm odd. Basically zero concaving too.
For AUD $350 it was a steal to me.
Also starting to think that custom made just aren't for me, unless I'm there having it made right in front of me as I need to feel the bat to make sure it's right. So off the shelf from now on I reckon.

Great find. Looks like a bat that even I could use adequately.
Love this shape too - not really sure you'd need much more than this as a club cricketer.

Looks a great stick.
When at @Vitas Cricket before Christmas the quality of TON bats was something else and exceptional value for money
-
The handle is actually pretty good, well bound and looks to be of decent quality. Perhaps they changed how they do it as I've seen some pretty dodgy SS handles in the past.

Used this in the nets today against an old ball and it feels really good in the hands and the ball comes off very nicely. Very happy with the spontaneous purchase
I'm thinking of going without a scuff sheet for the first time, is there anything I need to be wary of compared to scuff sheets? Oil more regularly? Give a light sanding every now and again?

It's the devil boys... Let's burn him at the stake

Sticker is so similar to silver edition. Just green in-place of blue. Nice choice. I never get chance to own bats with this much wood at this weight

This exactly the reason why I avoid going into cricket stores.. Too much quality to to be tempted into spending money i dont have! haha
