Title: 50+
Post by: JB on January 14, 2017, 04:55:37 PM
Emailed @skip1973 after christmas about one of these special bats coming out of GN Australia. After a couple of emails Jason recommended the 50+, i'm glad he did!

The pick up on this thing is unbelievable, i cant put it down! Its 2.15 with a scuff sheet, edges are 55mm spine is around 68/70mm. It has been knocked in by Kingsgrove and the performance is phenomenal, very long middle indeed! Its got one of the biggest bows i've had on a bat

@JB you have an absolutely awesome collection! You owe the forum a comparison post of those lovelies! I've picked up Chris's (Smileys) Warner and they do pick up superb, how's the comoarison with the affinity?

I've put some profile comparisons between the Affinity/50+/H4L in the Affinity review @Ams4287

Do these 50 plus all come without the thread binding? Wouldn't that lead to more shock in the hands? Or is it given that users will always add extra grip on top?

The bottom one inch has thread binding.

I haven't felt any shock but then I have double thickness chevron.

The half binding allows more flex and helps with distributing the vibration. Instead of having the shoulder cop the brunt of the vibration and creating a single weak point, it helps distribute it better and leads to less Shoulder damage. - That is what Marcus from affinity told me.

You do have some ripper sticks. I do like the WOW factor about the 50+ and have thought about buying one, but they are far too heavy for me to use

They do have WOW factor, but then I don't think they are going to be used throughout the innings unless you are well built. I mean, I use 2.10, the one I have is 2.15 on scales but I don't think I will ever use it in a game for more than 10 minutes. Would feel even more heavy then.

As a bowling allrounder and late order batsman GN50+ is perfect for me.. i just got a Kook Xtreme for Vitas in similar weight for nets and against cheap balls.

I've had a trapped nerve in my neck so today was my first net for 3 months! My right arm has lost a load of muscle because of it but I was glad to get through half an hour with a 3lb bat!  :D
