Spoke to Marcus about making me something big. He said he had a little project he was working on where he was going to see if he could copy @smilley792 's Warner and asked if i was interested. The bat itself is huge, no concaving with thick shoulders and a meaty toe. I've just weighed it again and it has put a couple of ounces on, It was just under 3lb from memory but is now around 3.2. It has 54mm edges and a 72mm spine. The pick up is really good so the extra couple of ounces dont really matter! Needs knocking in, i've just got too many to do :D Initial mallet and ball response is really good! Few blemishes on the face but that sort of thing doesnt really bother me. I love the Voodoo stickers

Its more of a review backlog Pete, i've had this a few months

@procricket has mentioned a few times that these warners and 50+ look small compared to mine.
Honestly I didn't agree with him BUT!!!
That affinty is an exact replica of my Warner, he made it side by side and sent to jb. And I honestly can't believe how much bigger that is compared to the fifty plus!!!
All 3 bats are pretty phenomenal, cracking collection.
-
There is definitely more in the toe and the shoulders. The 50+ is still a special bat though!
-
Monster bat! I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of this bat.
How thick is the toe?
-
The pictures don't quite show it but the H4L doesn't look out of place either

How thick is the toe?
21mm at the edge & 26mm in the middle

Which law of physics tells us that bigger is better?

Which law of physics tells us that bigger is better?
Firstly, I don't care. People can use whatever bat there comfortable with, big small, short long, all pllacebo.
Secondly, not sure where I was suggesting anything was better, merely discussing a point procricket has been mentioning on a few threads regarding the size of my Warner players edition purchased in October 2015, and the current batch.

What's the weight of the 50+?

That's where the extra 3oz or so come into it I guess

Definitely got much thicker shoulders than the smilley warner! Just a beast!!!
-
So.... theoretically if you were to get a slightly shorter blade (a la warbird), and take a little out of shoulders, 2-3mm out of edge, spine & toe too with a low density cleft you could get this to 2'10???

@JB with so many monster bats how do you decide which one to go for? you must be spoilt for choice
-
Interested to find out the price of this?
always quite interested when I see Affinity bats
-
If I had the physical strength to use one of these, which I don't by a very long way, the affinity stands out from the others. Shape wise and a wise a good sized toe and shoulders. To me the last thing you want with these really big bats is a thin toe.
I would guess thou a thick toe would affect the pick up

There £360 regardless.
He occasional does free world wide shipping, follow him on social media for picking when that's on.
-
@Rahul_K they like big bats and they cannot lie.
I see no problem with that.

You need a big hammer to knock in a big nail.

Yeah the extra weight will definitely help the bigger profile. I wouldn't know where to start to know how much size the 3oz equates to in timber though
-
I know this has been discussed before here, but honestly, no bat is a Warner replica unless it comes in the same weight as Warner's which is around
2-9 3/4. Getting the same edges as Warner's but at 2-15 - it can only be good for pics but without much utility. I can hardly imagine anyone being able to use it effectively (and score lots of runs) at a decent level game. unless you can get a feel of Warner's bat which means similar bat at edges/spine AND weight, the high price tags for the 50+ and similar replica's is baffling..no offense to anyone, I know people will like the WOW factor on looks, but just some thoughts on the usability aspect of the bat.
-
Plenty of people use heavy "regular" bats and score bucket full of runs, so why would a Warner be any different in their hands..
-
Warners bats aren't 2,9 and 3/4 in a later video he even admits himself this was wrong
The big ginge (Alex Hohenkerk) on here has confirmed that are at very least 2,11 if not more
-
The one James Taylor had direct from him was around 2/12 but picked up great
and was exact as @smilley792 shape not the current ones though !!!

Sure.. as long as the bat is not priced higher (which I dont know for sure is the case or not tbh), in the name of it being Warner "replica", then there is no concern..

Thanks for the link mate. Made good viewing..Good to know Warner's bats are actually 2-11. Would have been complete if Chris also mentioned his bat weight :)
-
Love the bat looks absolutely fantastic. I hadn’t considered an Affinity before but will now keep an eye out for a deal on one!
-
