Title: Mark Cosgrove Redback
Post by: Wilko on January 23, 2010, 09:59:32 PM
While recently watching the twenty20 bigbash in Australia I relised that the South Australian batsmen was using a redback allegience but with a difference. Instead of the redback logos and stuff he had a chrome number 7 on the front and back, with just the word allegience under it. Does anyone know what that is?

These are the best pictures I could find, they definitely are redbacks but you can't see the '7'

cozzie will be using redback gear from now on.  due to copyright issues with the redbacks team and other legal malarky new stickers had to be designed so they could be used.  thats about the jist of it, hopefully im not out of my place explaining this.

Ok thanks that probably is true considering their action against impala for using the name redback on their most popular bat, i think impala lost lots of money for being successly sued and that is why they have brought out a whole new range with no designs at all. luckily this wont happen to redback cricket as the stickers have been changed.

yes it was precisely because of the impala sueing.  dont think garys got enough money to be sued to that extent!!

http://smpimages.com   if you search for Mark Cosgrove on there, loads of images come up!

But yea, basically I cant use the name Redback in Oz for the above reasons so the bats have been rebranded over there with the name 7sins.  This will be australia only.

Yea he did mate.

WALSHY - well, thats not quite true... the vics should have scored 20 less than they did, it was only some great hitting from Blizzard that got them out of trouble.  Then to be 3-13 in the chase makes it pretty damn hard from there.  Its a team game mate

Yea I'd say an excellent performance from the Vic's over an average perfomance from SA won the match. Dirk Nannes 1st bowling spell was unbelieveble, plus blizzard and finchs good scores.

I should have played him this year but luckily one match was rained off and the other was near the end of season where he had to go home to train for his team in Aus. Apparently he was absolutely class though, 900 odd runs in 15 innings.

He should have gone about it in a different way, defence and nuging is not going to get you 9 an over.
