Bit of a weird and geeky one this, but just wondering what wood glue brands people use,
I've generally stuck to the mainstream Evo-Stick and Gorilla Wood Glue, but just wondering what else others have used and what they've though of it

Apparently fevibond and Superglue are the professional choices! A couple of well know personalities on YouTube said so ;)

Fevibond is an inferior contact adhesive, there are better alternative out there but it is best used for toe guard application, pretty rubbish for bat repairs
Superglue maybe the smallest little surface cracks to quickly seal them.
Everything else, good old PVA, you don't need anything fancy just bog standard PVA which is as cheap as chips :)

Thanks Jake, I think Cams comments were said in jest and as an inside joke. Found a big 5 litre bottle for quite a good price (£16) so will buy that.

Ha I've seen the videos, it did make me chuckle seeing a retailer who call themselves 'the specialist' using a contact adhesive to try and carry out a repair. Thought I better clarify as not everyone will have seen, and I wouldn't want a new member to see the post and think they were the best options.
Depends how much you are using it I suppose, but be careful storing that amount for a long period. It won't go off as such, but may separate a little and need mixing every so often. It also doesn't like extreme cold so keep it safe during the winter :)

Yeah I know, it's laughable mate but you're right to clarify, I'm getting through quite a bit so prefer to buy a big bottle don't mind if I had to mix it up from time to time, will probably fill a smaller bottle up with it as and when so it's more manageable. Thanks for the help

Some old school batmakers still use pearl glue too.

My season is now finished and I'm gonna have a crack at refurbing my bats. One thing I noticed when removing the grips from the handle is that the twine binding is starting to come away from the handle. Is it just a simple case of brushing over some PVA glue to set this again, or would it require a complete re-binding? Would some physio tape to secure this be another alternative? It's only loose at the bottom of the handle nearest the splice. Some advice from posters who have done this type of work themselves would be much appreciated!

If the binding is in good condition just rebind and a light coat of PVA.
Physio Kensio tape can be used as an alternitive to glue
