Wasn't Aragon in Lord of the Rings?  Handy on a horse if I remember.

Henry VIII's first wife was from Aragon.

I think Aragorn was in the lord of the rings.

If I was being pinickity I'd ask why you didn't remove the scuff sheet residue and give it a nice sand before applying the twine. :-[

Tidy looking job mate  :)

It might be just me, but if it belonged to someone else I'd be more inclined to remove the residue and give it a nice fine sand before returning it.

I'd rather return the bat and the owner be pleasantly surprised I'd done more than they were expecting, rather than just repair the damage and hand it back. My rule if thumb for refurbs is I wont turn the bat in a condition i wouldn't be happy to use it myself. Each to their own though

just for my own info, what is the advantange of the binding rather than fibreglass tape

I think I have seen this a long time ago with a Salix with a broken toe. it seems to be like a string then coated in a glue

it was solid as a rock

You can bind and cover in glue, the binding shrinks as the glue dries holding it tighter than tape will, tape also loosens over time a little where as binding doesn't, the binding is unsightly though.
Salix also used to use toe wraps think they still do which is a tape then covered in glue and does the same as the binding but seals the toe too from moisture also looks a bit better

Would take that in consideration for next time....  i do repairs bat just because i like it... i dont make any $$$ benefits from it

All bats used to be repaired this way once it's certainly a solid stronger  longer lasting repair than fibreglass tape not very pretty on your bat though heard  bowlers moan that this type of repair damages the ball on impact.
