After a session on Youtube I heard Paul Aldred talking about the benifits of Butterfly Willow and having seen a recent review on here for an RS bat I decided to combine the two and pick up an RS butterfly bat that looked like it had fantastic grains and a touch of heartwood and at only £99 I thought it wasn't to be missed. I picked it up and at the same time saw a MB Bubber Sher that is massive in terms of volume but a real ugly duckling with a face only a mother could love. I decided to give them both a new home. Pics below and as always valuable details to follow.

I wondered where the rage had gone!!. Congratulations. Looks excellent to me

The Rage looks like a good stick for £99!
And OMW, how big is that MB! Insane size wise, must be very heavy? 3lb?

@wasted_talent The MB is 2'11, I still actually can't believe it is as light as it is for the size.

Oh wow! that's a good weight for that size. Do provide feedback on performance plz :D

Wow that looks massive. How is the performance? Going to the MB factory in a couple of weeks, should be an interesting time :)

@FattusCattus They were both from TheCricketShed.
I have absolutely no idea on performance of both yet, they arrived in the office this morning, the wife is out tonight so I'll tap a mallet this evening to see what both are like. I'm most impressed with the RS if I'm honest, the grains look great and the finishing is absolutely superb, much, much better than I was expecting for a £99 bat!
@DorsetDan that was the first thing I thought I'd check following the video I watched from Aldred, tried twisting the handle and bending it and although the handle is too thin for me at the moment it feels pretty solid.

I think there will be a few of us waiting to hear regarding the performance of the MB.
In my experience, the few RS bats I have seen, one thing that has stood out has been the attention to detail on their finishing. Whether its a £200 bat or a £99 bat by the sounds of it! Good effort from the boys at RS ;)

Initial mallet tests on both are quite promising. The Bubber is fairly unresponsive until around the 'M' of the edge sticker, from there the ping improves and in the middle of the edge sticker 'ALI' is actually surprisingly good, the bat then starts tapering away with its performance and from just above the 'M' sticker is fairly unresponsive again.
The RS responds well from lower down the blade (state the obvious from the profiles I know) and is still responding nicely until around the top of the cricket shed sticker on the back.
