Title: England New Balance kit question
Post by: Pilgrim on March 22, 2017, 09:02:57 PM
Hi, with all the talk about the New England football kit I was just wondering if anyone had an update on when the New Balance England cricket kit would be unveiled? A little surprised that pictures of it haven't leaked onto here as yet because its official appearance can't be far away.

New Balance are treating the imagery with MI5 levels of secrecy, that's why it hasn't been leaked.

Launching next month

Sad sign that the kit announcement doesn't get leaked when the Telegraph gets hold of every other ECB announcement the night before it goes public...

I'm Guessing something along the lines of the South Africa kit or the templates that the north & south sides used. Nothing spectacular

That's just an ICC tournament shirt. It'll be a licenced product from the ICC and there will be one for each participating country, same design different colours. Nothing to do with New Balance.

haha... I remember it like yesterday as I was at Sydney supporting England wearing it. Athers declared with Hick on 98(I think) and it went downhill from then on. Think we lost 3-1.

but you (and many others by the sound on it) won't remember that  :)

All pretty grim for me.

Jumper makes Root looks like he has B cups
QPR representing the T20 side
ODI one looks like a bad mid 90's Switzerland kit.

Like the duffle too, but it does just look like a big sack to lose all my stuff in. Looks a bit too "Simple" for my OCD needs...

so - as mentioned by a previous poster, we now have:

A Navy Blue IPL replica shirt that someone spilt some bleach on
Some kind of jumper from The Edinburgh Woollen Mill 50% off rail

it takes something to beat the fluorescent pink/orange car crash one we had recently for T20, but this tops it

Hate to be stuck back-in-the-day when we all went out and bought the latest shirt no matter what the price but for 80 odd quid for this one i'd rather buy a blank canvas, tip some Dulux on it and wear that.

to me it looks like a rugby or football shirt. and it's awful.

sorry......  :)

I just wonder what the other samples were like before picking these ones, the ECB markets/corporate department need to be sacked!

Not only that the Natwest logos look god awful, we now have the worst kit in world cricket i think. :(

I loved the South Africa replicas so had high hopes for the England kits but the T20 is particularly bad. I did notice that there are 2 kits available to buy too, like the football shirt method of a proper, 'as the players wear' shirt for 80-90 and a 'supporters' shirt for 55.

the one on the left is decent because us supporters(of some of us) wear them with jeans. that's a cracking looking shirt.

not sure about the one on the right but it's still better than the dogs dinner that is ours.

When we won the T20 WC(woop woop) Collingwood led us home in a dark blue addias shirt that looked superb

how are we going to win anything looking like a football reserve team

it's poor..... :)

I think it's lighting that's making them out to be more see through than they are. In some picture of Root they don't look see through at all! Any chance of a proper review of them Rick?

I've been wearing them for the last couple of game too.

Very lightweight and easy to bowl in for myself.
I had both the adidas whites and canterbury bowling trouser over the last few years and these are a lot better IMO.
Easier to clean as well, the grass stains seemed to come out in one quick wash.

I know what you mean, these are more a structured fit. Fit like they actually should, generous on the waist and not too long in the leg.

PDC is cheaper than Barringtons (unsurprisingly) - haven't seen anywhere else less than PDC so far

Sports direct are cheaper according to the email they sent but when you click through it doesn't show the products

Adult shirts are 44.99

Have a look at Owzat, their England stuff is usually cheaper.

For the training shirt I like the look of AllRounder seem to be the best for it.

The ODI kit is nice, shame the training kit isn't their T20 shirt!

Agree with the kit looking better today, probably won't be saying the same when we play a T20.

£175 for a bag is steep, but when I think about it, it's more of a coffin than a bag. How much will a SF coffin set you back?

I think because this is less sturdy than the aluminium SF coffin, but much sturdier than a normal bag, it's probably priced correctly.

If they aren't Limited, I'll be waiting for the PDC Black Friday sale! Would be very keen at £100.

The Blue one day kit has grown on me after the 2 Ireland ODIs. Still think that the T20 kit looks like something from late 80s rugby league.
