Sounds like a good thing Dan! What days are you planning to play on, Sundays? Not sure I can help with fixtures as I'm without a social side at present, but with that in mind give me a shout if you need a ringer!
-
Easton in Gordano would be the Bristol ones that spring to mind - play Sundays and midweeks, mixed level social club and a lovely bunch.
-

Best wishes with the venture Dan here's hoping it will be enjoyable and successful.

Always welcome down at Kilve - sounds like a perfect fit to our cricket week.
DM @jamesisapayne or myself if the distance is do-able

Being really dim... where are you guys based? Google suggest Klive is a live event venue in South Korea and that may be a bit far :) Could be a goer if you are closer than that, thanks!
What dodgy VPN are you Googling through? ;) Summerzet: https://goo.gl/maps/onqQU1ANt752

Afternoon Dan, we're a Bristol based side that play mainly Sunday games (generally 35 or 40 overs) but also have a sister t20 midweek side. A fair few of our players are back playing the game after 10/15 years out, also had our fair share of guys that have taken up the game with varying degrees of success.
I think we should have a Sunday or two free if you'd like to arrange a Sunday game, alternatively the midweek chaps may have a free date or two.
Either way, feel free to get in touch.

Who are the two sides @frooper11 ?

Who are the two sides @frooper11 ?
Sunday pub side, Cotham Porter Stores CC, playing from Long Asthon CC this year, last 3 years at Lodway CC. Play friendlies against "proper" league sides.
Midweek side are called Whicheloes CC, play friendlies and in a league of mainly work sides.
-
Nice, didn't know Cotham Porter Stores had an affiliated side!

Yep! Been going for over 40 years, play some decent sides around Bristol and the surrounding area, also tour every year for a game against Tideford CC in Cornwall.
-
are you guys looking for evening games or Sunday fixtures?
-
Sorry for the late replies
Cheers @frooper11 , I will bear than in mind. Would you guys potentially travel to Bath if we could host a game?
@velvetsky01 I didn't really have midweek games in mind to be honest but I think it could actually be nice and fit in pretty well. Are you around the Bath area?
Ta!
@DorsetDan , shouldn't be a problem travelling, most of our guys live on the outskirts of the city and enjoy an away trip. Think we've now only the one free date in June (11th) but could play a game later on in the season either 10th or 17th of September. Let me know.

I play for Bradford On Avon
have you any dates free for a midweek game? I would need to pass these on to our fixture secretary and go from there
-
We are looking for a pre season friendly on Saturday 29th if anyone is available
-
Good luck mate, hope it goes well for you
-
It's a lovely place to play Dan my club Bradford on Avon used to play there every year in Landsdown cricket festival which they hold for a week. Wonderful pitch and cracking teas!
We might be able to have a fixture if you are able to play a midweek friendly
-
yep lovely setting Broughton Gifford sadly the pitch isn't a good one (well last time I played there it wasn't) and not too far from me ( I live in Melksham) sadly as I play Saturday I wont be able to play this week - if it was next Sunday however there may have been a chance lol
-
I do - I have sent you a PM
-
Thank you to everyone who helped with finding us our first few fixtures this season.
We were fairly solidly beaten by Broughton Gifford after trouble getting numbers in the team and one of their lads hitting sixes at will but they were great hosts and had fantastic teas in the village pub!
Thank you too @frooper11 for hosting us at very short notice yesterday at Long Ashton CC. The weather might have not always been on our sides but it was a great way to finish the season (especially for your final bowler getting a wicket with the last ball :) ).

Despite losing, enthusiasm for cricket in the team was high after the game and the boys were already talking about winter nets which is must have meant they enjoyed this first foray in to social cricket!
Thanks again, and we'll try to be more organised next season!
Not a problem Daniel, was great to have you come and play us. Proved to be a good game despite the massive deluge halfway through and the constant mizzle thereafter.
See you all next summer!
