I'm thinking of buying these - http://onlinestockist.com/ULTIMATE-Light-Weight-Cricket-Batting-Gloves-BLACK-PITTARDS-P4422358.aspx (http://onlinestockist.com/ULTIMATE-Light-Weight-Cricket-Batting-Gloves-BLACK-PITTARDS-P4422358.aspx)
FYI - I know the black is ugly, but I don't mind it.
Has anyone personally used these if so, opinion?
Are they using real "Pittard leather"?
Are the "Unbranded Gloves" on onlinestockist DECENT quality? (I'm not looking for top of the line gloves, just something to last a season and can handle my sweaty hands).
-
I might be wrong but they look the same as Newbery Sps ones I also own the Newbery ones and I think they are very good lasted a season quite well. May need to be careful of postal charges though.

They're not bad at all those, mate of mine got the pair with normal palms and was very happy with them. I was after a black palm pair (I like it, is it just me then ha?) but sadly they're only available in Indian mens.

What do you mean by "indian mens" is that a size? haha

Not exactly, but mens size for the Indian market is smaller than mens size in the UK, and I'm a bit borderline in some UK mens gloves so no good for me.
-
That's not a problem them, I don't have the biggest hands :D
-
Yep, I've got a couple of pairs of these and they are fine, comfy and flexible - they are a snug fit, so just a bit smaller than normal mens - other than that, well pleased with them for the money.

@FattusCattus , how is the protection? Good enough against a new ball?

I wear them in the nets and they are as good as anything else. Been hit at 80mph a few times and perfectly fine.
People slate them but tbh, you can't beat them.

I've no idea, I never get hit, I thrash things away with my bat!
-
^ I wish I was that skilled, I do get hit from time to time. :)

Ive got the unbranded sausage version ( a bit updated from the photo on their site ) . Thdy are really similar to s.s sangakkara / jadeja gloves . Awesome protection.... it's a toss up as to whether they have more protection than the bas players gloves . I'm waiting on getting a few more batches of gloves and will review the unbranded and all the other gloves at the same time .... maybe a month or so .
Ultimately, if ols have them in stock , and if you are ok wearing equivalent to u.k small mens , then get unbranded gloves , they are good.
Btw, not sure , but have heard the pittards is 'cougar pittards' as opposed to the original kind .

How does the so called "pittards leather" hold out... Does it become hard and dry a week after a long innings?
How long can i expect them to last me?

I've used 2 pairs all winter with inners and they've stayed good the whole time. Again, no different to the gloves you'll pay double, triple or quadruple for

For almost the same price, they also have SS LE gloves (which actually have been used by a lot of internationals) on the same website, then why do you want this unbranded thing?

I cant find the unbranded sausage fingered ones on the website. Did you contact him directly? Do you have a poc of the gloves?
-
I noticed they disappeared off the website about 2-3 weeks ago . At the same time all the other unbranded gloves went up in price by about $10au..... i wasn't happy .

@gazr5 .... they are back on the website again , so here's a few pics .
They have similar style to the s.s camo sangakkara gloves . They are a bit heavier than my high end sausage gloves ( bas players etc ) but are a bit larger ie a true u.k mens as opposed to indian or small mens . I think they make a great training glove .
