Thinking of buying this as a 2nd bat... I'm new to online stockist, not sure about the quality of there products...
Has anyone bought one of these? if so what's the quality of it? how does it ping?

I think the general consensus of the forum when it comes to OLS is you'll be fine with softs but the bats are a gamble.
You could get a pingy bargain, in which case all is well.
If anything goes wrong you've effectively wasted your money though, as returning it isn't a viable option.
-
I'd say that was a fair summary, however definitely buying through paypal offers a lot of protection. I've submitted a case for a bat that was damaged in transit that I won but on the whole OLS seem to be pretty decent but agreed a bit of a gamble on bats.

Had one.. Badly fitted handle caused shoulder to crack after a couple of seasons..

My experience is actually the complete opposite although the principle remains the same. I have had 2 bats from them with no problems but when ordering some BAS gloves they sent youths instead of mens which in Indian sizing is miniscule. Had to give them to a kid at my club

I had one but it disintegrated pretty early on. Very pingy but did not last. Best to avoid.

Have bought few bats from OLS over the years and every time the bats and the service has been exceptional. Just let Ajit know your requirements and rest assure you will get what you asked for. From my experience, very reliable and bats are worth every penny. You won't be disappointed for sure.
-
I would avoid - they don't seem to have the best rep on the forum for bats at least
-
Ajit is fine, but I would stick to his SS/TON or BDM bats and ask for plenty photos and be patient. If he recommends something he normally knows it is good. Sleep on it and if you really want it. Buy.
-
yes stick to known brands i.e. SS/SG/BDM and ask for pics/recommendations for the bats in the pics. I have purchased few (around 5-6) bats from him over the years and can say they were all fine but again there is No after sales support so you are own your own after buying.

One can add SF to the list of brands. OLS has local connects with all these brands and more often than not delivers great bats. Never tried any of the custom ones though.
-
I bought some gloves from them for the start of last season, can't fault the quality or price plus the delivery time was quite reasonable.
Good luck

I bought a pro level bat from them and while knocking it, I started to notice surface cracks. I also thought surface cracks shows the quality of willow and mostly happen with lower grade willow. I would personally avoid them considering I paid £200+ for it.

Down or across the grain?
-
@tom line Down. It looks more like G3 bat now.
-
Small surface cracks going down the bat close to the grains is referred to as the bst "opening up" and is normally a sign of a very good bat

@tom line when I bounce the ball or tap it with mallet, it sounds weird.
