Here are few details of MB Malik Lala Edition bat i recently got directly from MB Malik factory in Sailkot. My friend in MB Malik sent me pics of a bat which was one of the few made for Mohammed Hafeez (Pakistan Team opener) for his recent tour of West Indies. With 9 straight grains & a very light pickup this is one of best bats i have in my small collection. Stickers are embossed but too many for my taste and pretty much covering the whole back. I will let the pics do the talking. Below are the specs & details.
Weight: 2-11
Edge: 51 mm
Spine: 71 mm
Toe: 32 mm at center & 22 mm at the edge.
Sweet spot: Mid-High
Handle: Round standard thickness.
Profile: Moderately concaved with spine running to the toe. Pronounced bow with thick toe.
Ping Level: Ceiling destroyer and on-par with my GN50+.
Con: 105 mm width :(

Pic from the factory before all the stickers were applied. Definitely not a laminate.

Surely that "fully knocked" sticker is false advertising.
Careful you don't cut yourself on those sharp edges!

Never took those "Fully knocked" stickers seriously :)

Lovely bat @jd163!!!
-
Looks like someone has already given that face a bit of a workout judging by the seam marks left behind
-
HUGE bat for the weight, who cares if it's 3mm short in width if it's packing in that much wood! If it's on par with the GN50+ while being light enough to wield, that's always got to be a good buy! How much did this set you back? The MB Lala edition I knocked in a while back was 2.12, concaved pretty heavily and much skinnier than this one!
-
@Chad i paid $375 USD delivered. Thanks
-
@jd163 - Bat looks a stunner, big edges should compensated for 3mm loss of width ;).
MB Malik brings back a lot of memories. My first bat when i started playing in the US was a MB bubber sher, used to quite popular among many people in the local leagues.
-
MB malik, AS, AM all these companies still produce great bats at very good value.
-
Excellent bat!
The stickers do seem too excessive with the silhouette of Afridi though :p

Marks are from bouncing a new CA ball with very rough seam.. It is oiled and now ready for the LV mallet.
-
Awesome bat mate . Jealous .

Good stuff let the fun begin

The size of this thing! For that price, it is a bargain!!!
-
huge bat for the weight. MB never disappointed me over the years. They are better than CA in my opinion.
-
That is a great looking bat. What is particularly different about this Lala is that it is less concaved. Massive bat for the weight! Also in every single MB I have ever seen the ping has always always been incredible.
-
MB is been producing great bats, tapped couple of MB bats of friends that have direct source at the factory and they're amazing bats. Affordable as well
-
Anyone seen/tried the matching softs- some on eBay for a good price
-
I absolutely love MB Shers!! I would buy one tomorrow if I could get a reliable source. Lot of dodgy ones about!
-
This one looks a bit tasty!
50mm+ edges and a very good weight of 2'11. Very good buy :D
-
@jd163 I missed this post. wow it turned out to be a lovely bat. Ping might be on par with the GN50+, however the Lala is 3 oz lighter i'm guessing and that is impressive. See how it compares when you net it. Out of interest has it put on any weight since it arrived?
-
That's one big bat :o ...enjoi
-
@sarg no change in weight so far. No nets so far with this one yet. Will definitely update you.
-
Really nice looking bat at a reasonable price. Good luck!
