Evening Gents,

My club in West Somerset (Minehead CC) are currently in the process of fundraising for new nets. The money is there, but the Chairman wants us players to do some of our own fundraising to show we're keen and committed before he unlocks the funding (fair enough I reckon).

So, my idea for fundraising- Getting Boozy and hosting more games on Sundays & Midweek. Which is part and parcel of pretty much any cricket tour!

Luckily, we are sponsored by Wetherspoons who have a hotel/bar/nightclub here in Minehead, and are happy to offer a whopping 20% off all accommodation and food costs to any team here on cricket tour.

West Somerset is a very lovely area of the Country to play cricket in, with many beautiful award winning village grounds who I have contacts with to arrange other games as well as playing against ourselves.

So what I'm asking is, are there any teams who would be interested in coming to West Somerset this season (or in 2018), who would be likely to stick around in the bar afterwards for a few pints, as well as having a BBQ etc. going on?

May not be the biggest fundraiser in the world for our club, but shows that some of the younger lads are keen to organise events meaning the chairman will cough up!

You still do your six a side Ian?
You could offer that out on here, I'm sure there's a few teams would love to come down and play on one of the nicest batting tracks in the country, in a stunning part of the country.

You're selling it well for me there! Forgot to mention our home ground is a bit of a road! I'll find out the dates for the 6-a-side asap!

if you want to make it a two day tour. i can highly recommend dunster as its only 2 miles from minehead.

Actually have our first game of the season at minehead a week on Saturday. Hopefully it is a total road and I can benefit.
