Title: Staying balanced while batting
Post by: Big Mac on April 21, 2017, 01:42:21 AM
Long story short, my spinning finger is knackered so I'm going to have to break the habit of a lifetime and actually learn to bat.  :( :( :(

With that in mind, I jumped in front of a bowling machine for the first time in my life and asked my brother to fire in some deliveries at middle, middle and leg because I'm useless off my pads.

Watching some of the footage my brother recorded with his mobile phone I noticed that I really have no balance whatsoever and end up walking after playing more or less every shot.

So yeah, help!

Big Mack.
This may help. Firstly your weight is going to the off side. Push your head towards the ball. Where your head goes your feet will follow.
Secondly , bend your knees into your stroke and take your natural step into the ball (this should happen naturally if your head goes first ). This should help you stop the walking.
Good luck !
