Title: SF toe to back crack repair advice
Post by: Palm22 on May 07, 2017, 08:56:27 PM
Hi all
After doing some minor repairs on some edge and face cracks on my SF I noticed this large crack going from the toe to about 16 cms up the back of the bat. Am not sure how to repair it so any help would be great. Hopefully the pictures show the damage

Pretty serious damage that one, repairable but you can never tell how long it will last.
Presumably it's going from front to back? If so open the crack up as much as you can at the toe with a screwdriver or similar and fill with lots of glue for the whole crack. Wrap tightly with parcel tape and clamps and let dry. Would then probably advise  a toe insert or a few dowels, though for this toe insert would be better in my opinion

Cheers for the reply. Luckily the crack only goes from the toe to the back. Would you still suggest doing the same process? Do you have any advice on how to dowel the toe successfully?
